USH'S LOTR RP Game part 2- The Fortress of Baranar

Aiwendil was shaking as Palanfirith helped her to her feet.
She looked up at him. "We have to tell the others." she said, simply.

You can't escape this feeling that you have been, in some way, noticed, Aiwendil. As in you personally. Marked as an enemy.

Aiwendil shivered, but not from cold. She felt vulnerable and targeted - it was an uncomfortable feeling.

Other than that, the evening passes peaceably. Does anyone have any other preperations to make before moving on (and meeting Aniica again, if she returns?"

"Hmm...strange...I have never been to the Downs. Care to tell me the tales of the place?"

The downs are actually that part of the Old Forest that is no longer covered in trees. Its most notable part of its history is that when Cardolan was first invaded centuries ago, the Royal Family and other nobles took refuge there, burying their dead. The invasion eventually ceased, and the Royal Family went home

(Where they all promptly died when the Great Plague hit- that's life for you)

People have little reason to go there- the reason you are is to avoid using the road, and to get some propaganda to help your cause by paying respect to the Barrows of the Cardolani nobility- a tourist attraction, before the recent troubles.

Meeting me again?

Well, several of them met you before in the last game, yes? It is not too great a coincidence to say you are in Bree at the same time as these guys and meet them!

In which case, those of you who remember Aniica from before (remember her bird?) can meet her again and say hi, and maybe fill her in on what is going on?

It is a cold spring morning, and you are about to leave. You will cross into Cardolan soon and will not be at any point of civilisation until you reach Baronar itself.

after having a small breakfast I head out to meet emoras. When I find him we take a walk around the streets of Bree. While waiting for the group to assemble

Aiwendil retched, her disgust multiplied by the projected feelings of the creatures around her. She was light-headed and dizzy, and was having difficulty walking in a straight line. Her vision grew dark as her eyes rolled back in her head and she collapsed.

Anii's bird screetched loud and clear.......

"A pleasure to see you again, Aniica," Anglomir says. "How's your bird doing? He got pretty beat up by the Crebain on the way to Fornost."

anything cookin'?....i assume i'm still meditating

Nope, it is morning time! You are all rested, Vardalain- time to go!

Gorlim and Annphor want to get going as soon as possible- they don't like this place.

Aniica, this party appears to be travelling on behalf of the King of Arthedain himself- complete with two Lords of the Royal Council- on some vital diplomatic misison into Cardolan. It seems quite important and they are happy for you to accompany them- I will leave it to one of the players to tell you WHY it is important, though.

You leave the town soon after first light. It is cold but not TOO cold. Soon you have left the road- which will soon become dangerous- and are heading into the gemtle rolling hills of the Downs.

((erm... why are we leaving when me hast collapsed?))

Because I assumed you recovered by the next morning, unless you expected Palanfirith to just kleave you there! Only I need to move things on...

((okiedokies....))

Aiwendil shivered in her saddle, for the first time in her life wishing to be inside instead of out with nature. Her head was throbbing and the surrounding (fields/hills/woods, wherever we are) were silent

You keep thinking you see glimpses of the Crebain, Aiwendil- out of the corner of your eye, high above.

Aniica answered Anglomir, "Anglomir, it's a great honour, once again, to be a part of this group. I hope that I am able to serve here, as I once could. As for my bird..... I had to replace him. He expired, his soul lies at rest. Amon is the hawk which I found wounded. He is very smart and obeys most." The hawk landed and cawwed. He nodded his head twice and flew off. "Kewan, she takes over my other horse, Emenry." Anii looked around.

"Poor chap, the first one was a good bird. I'm sure this one is just as fine a creature as the last one, though," Anglomir replies.

"Anyway...Aiwendil, what is it? Why are you shivering?" Anglomir asks the Elf maiden.
