USH'S LOTR RP Game part 2- The Fortress of Baranar

Started by Ushgarak211 pages

The Eotheod do have ranks, you know... btw 'Eotheod' is not an Elven word.

Rex, you CANNOT need an update already, nothing has happened to you yet! Go read the game re-start post!

In Rivendell, the leaves in the trees stir slightly as the Lords of Rivendell arrive, taking up their place at the tables at the head of the meeting area. Last to arrive is Elrond himself, who sweeps majestically to his chair, and looks over each attendant in turn.

"Well met, all of you," says Elrond. "I give thanks that your journeys have been safe ones in these perilous times. I wish I could promise such peril would soon diminish but such things are not within my power. Please, all sit and we may hear each other's counsel."

-

In Baranar, Lord Baranar himself- a tall, bearded man with ever-so-slightly the look of the Dunadain, will come by Aiwendil and Andromir.

"It's cold night for you to be out," he says.

Revan listens to Elrond speak. It is clear he has great respect for him.

(never said they had no ranks, I just said I had no)
*sits and listens*
Some of these elves need to watch their tongue

Corlindel wakes from his thoughts to watch with admiration the High Ealer of Middle-Earth. And at this moment he feels honoured for the Mission Cirdan had delegated him.

Kai looked at Elrond as he spoke.

{Am I like, Kai the Brown or what?}

*Andromir nods his head in aknowledgement, then turns to Aiwendil, then back to Lord Baranar*

"Indeed sire, however, (btw, phoe, how should I call Aiwendil ? master,lady.. ?) Aiwendil has made a troubling observation, which only the keen senses of an elf could make."

*stops talking, allowing Aiwendil to continue*

{Am I like, Kai the Brown or what?}

is this elf talk ?

then back to Lord Baranar

he isn't with us as I remember...

{I'm a mage and I'm weak so am I like brown like gandalf the gray, or gandalf the white. What race was Gandalf?}

<wrong fitch... he isn't with YOU... he IS with me... 😛>

Gandalf was a maira (sp) that took the form of a man. anywayz I don't think you are brown yet. cause those ranks usualy apply to wizards and if I am correct there were only about 5-8 wizards

{I thought Gandalf became a maiar when he turned into Gandalf the White? Bit I haven't finished the books and I havn't read any other LOTR sources(that were written by tolken, save the hobit.) So don't listen to me.}

(possible)

((the colours only apply to the group of wizards who came to middle earth - i don't think anyone else can have them. Gandalf was a Maia as well as the Balrog and Sauron, back in the Second Age, several thousand years before he became gandalf the white))

Just to clarify, yes, Baranar is with Rusky, no, player character Mages do not have colours, yes there were only five 'Wizards', and yes, Gandalf was always a Maia, as were all the Istari.

"You still seem unwell, Mistress Elf," says Baranar. "Will you still be attending my meeting? There is much toi be spoken of. With you too, Andromir."

-

Ok, in that case, the meeting at Rivendell is now adopting a more formal appearance.

"As we all know," says Elrond, "we are gathered here at this time to discuss the matter of Angmar and the Witch-King, who has oppressed the humans at Arnor in these recent centuries. Many of us feel cause for concern at his actions, yet none of us have the power to stop him simply with our will alone. Yet nor are any of us in a position to take up arms and march to war against him, now that our days in Middle-Earth are waning. Would that this had been the Second Age in the days of Gil-Galad, then a mighty host would have been ours to command, to keep all safe, Man and Elf alike, matched only by the great evil of Sauron himself. Now, so such forces exist; the world is Man's, yet it is feared that Man my fail. It raises many questions and difficult issues for us. We are beset by accusations by all sides; some accuse us of cowardice, of selfish self-interest. Others accuse us of pandering to Man by even talking to him of the situation, and that any Elven life has been offered in place of a Man's was an outrage.

"You, all of you, have come from our diverse cultures and realms on Middle-Earth, and now is the time we shall make clear to each other what our positions are, so that there will be no more confusion.

"I know many of you have only seen parts of the story, from your own perspectives. Perhaps it would be helpful if I started by re-telling all that has happened in this Age that takes us to this point now..."

"I shall, my Lord Baranar. To rest while ill is a luxury I cannot afford. I would normally draw strength from the land, but the land itself is the cause of my weakness..."

"I am no exeprt in such areas," says Baranar, "but I would imagine that away from the Downs, your condition should soon improve."

He offers you his arm as a support.

"Come... let me escort you to my Great Hall."

*waits and listens*

Although she disliked to have to take someone else's support to walk, she toook his arm so as not to appear rude. Also, she was a realist, at this moment she was likely to go toppling down a flight of stairs if she did not have some sort of support.

In that case, Baranar will lead you into his mighty stone great hall, where the meeting is satrting around a relatively austere wooden table, with food laid out for people.
