Yeah, I love Chris Potter's vioce as Gambit, I couldn't imagine a better one. It's the voice in my head when I read the comic.
You need to check it out though Laurel because no one knows a good cajun/New Orleans accent on this forum better than you I am sure. I will certainly make some gumbo of my own, alligator... where can you buy that??? I've had ostrich and buffalo a lot in New Mexico it's great and I like ostrich best. I thought gumbo was good for you... how is it bad??? spicy food is very good for your metabolism and I thought it was good for you in general. Nasty spider gumbo, that's funny.
Oh, no, you need to go back a few posts and check it out there AyJay.
I think I have a very good idea of what gumbo is, apparently it is whatever falls or crawls into Laurel's pot which is on the Boyou... can I revoke my self-invitation to come and eat at your place??? just kidding, I'm not afraid of a little spider or a giant alligator!!!!!
I know there are alligator farms all over the US, that's probably where. There's nothing wierd about buffalo, it's natures cow. Actually your gumbo would be very healthy with it because it has the least fat of all red meat and the most nutrients and it's yummy. Has Remy ever fallen into your pot? wouldn't be suprised.
nooo!! it fell into mama's gumbo. i am from new orleans. i like to cook. i make gumbo. its a mix of different stuff. once i ate a spider. that came up because i was mentioning how i eat sauce so spicy my mouth bleeds. i do eat alligator. i do not regularly eat spiders. t'was an accident. i was little. get involved in this all. it's fun! where are all y'all from? ya don't have to say, but i am really curious. anyone else hail from n'awlins? been to n'awlins? eat gumbo? just curious. i love remy lebeau. and remy boudreaux. my remy. and gambit. i have to go. cy'all.
yes! i was hoping someone would ask! creole and cajun are so not the same. for one, cajun pertains from being from new orleans. creoles are actually a ethnic background. black, french, and n'awlins. creoles are traditionally more high-up and delicate in their cooking. butter and okra as opposed to roux and filé. for gumbo, it's not terribly important, especially not outside of new orleans. but cajun has more of a kick to it. stronger, more earthy. but for gumbo, you're cool. you're cool, girl. no worries. i keep trying to remember to check out chris potter. but i forget instantly. silly me. anyhow. yeah. l8er.
well, he's okay looking, he has the basic features, but really, Laurel will tell you they could make him super hot and look like Remy with ease. He definately has the voice and accent down, I'm sure he can act the part too, the best thing is that he genuinly knows and understands the character because he played Gambit's vioce for years, he's not bad looking and he could be altered to make a good looking Gambit.
I need roux to make gumbo and that is one part butter to one part flour cooked slowly without burning it right??? see, I really am on the path to making my first pot of gumbo! in honor of Gambit and Laurel and her Remy! I even bought some cajun seafood sausage for it! however, I still don't know what file' is... help me Laurel...
okay. good girl on the roux. now for filé powder. no biggie. you'd be surprised how many places you'll find it. um. but how to explain. okay. go to the site h t t p : // w w w . apinchof . com / filepow1103. h t m without the spaces. that's pretty okay. you can find filé powder in a whole bunch of places. giant and safeway for northerners; the winn-dixie for me; you know. the supermarket. if it has mexican or asian spices separated, an 'exotic spices' section, as it were, you should be able to find filé. if now, well. if not. i know you can order it online. just do a google on buy + filé + powder, you'll get a whole bunch of great sources. i hope. i can't believe how much i take for granted sometimes. i have to go, schoolwork and all, but i'll talk to you l8er. cy'all!
Ok kiddos. I've been reviewing some of these posts. Let's clear up a couple of things. First, in X-1 Rogue develops a crush on Wolvie. In X-2, she starts a romance with Iceman. The chances of anything starting with Gambit(in X-3) are slim at best!! So there ain't no reason to worry 'bout who stacks up nicely next to Anna Paquin!Second, remember from the comics, Remy is 6'2"@180#. Almost all of the suggestions so far are way off base. Make-up and camera tricks can only do so much. The chosen actor still has to appear on stage with the other actors. Too short or too bulked and it will show.(just look at Halle-Storm is 5'11"😉 Third, the choice needs to be a semi-known. Too famous and you get money or ego problems. Too new and he gets over shadowed by the pros.
If you've check my previous post you already know my choice. Anyway, just my 2 cents worth. Someone will bash me, but I stand by my choice. 💃
No, Rogue didn't have a crush on Wolverine, she is suposed to be like a Jubilee, she loves him, but not in that way, like a father or a big brother. YUCK! how can people see that? it's so wrong! It is totally possible that a Gambit in the movie could take Rogue from Ice Boy, just like the comics, he doesn't stand a chance against this cajun.
Laurel works with movie production stuff and she explained very clearly that height and weight can be severly altered by use of equipment, and it's dead true, there's no way actors and actresses could be chosen simply on their stature in todays world, we can clone for God sakes.
I hope to God they don't use the same actress to play Rogue, talk about someone not looking like their character, even not having the right personality!!! ahhhh!
who was your pick??? I stand fully by Brad Pitt, though it is unlikely, that is my #1 choice and he would love to be a Gambit.
