Actually, evidence suggests only Vader and Boba ate: they both died. I'm pretty sure Han, Leia and Chewie lost ALL appetite.

As for Luke, I still consider that little bite "tasting" since he definately didn't like it. But that's a matter of opinion.
As for his lack of beardness, it is clear that the OT is Luke's journey to adulthood. He has yet to decide what side he's going to take, for he will (quoting OB1 here) "be tempted by the dark side." That ordeal will decide whether he will grow a beard eventually. Much like OB1 not having any facial hair in TPM. I'm sure that if there'd ever be sequels to the OT, Luke'd have a beard. The code commands it.

But we can deduce it a little bit. As I said, our rebel friends probably lost their appetite. Vader and Boba had had a long trip so they must be pretty hungry and there was all this food on the table. It'd be ashame to let it go to waste.

I'm not sure that it's a lack of seeing here, it's more the fact that you guys have discussed this in such detail over at TF.N and most of us have only just been introduced to the concept.

Actually, if you want to pick nits......Vader would NOT have eaten with Boba cause he couldn't have taken off his mask outside his chamber to eat. Lets face it, if he could have, do you think Boba would have wanted to eat seeing THAT ?

And of course, Boba would have had to take his helmet off, thereby revealing himself to Vader, which I don't think he would have particularly wanted to do.

But we don't know what fett looks like, he could be horribaly disfigured too...

Quite possible, RC. So lets say they're both disfigured. They could have had quite a pleasant discussion over cold cream, scabs and oozing pustules.

The could use the ooze as a dip....
