Finally an Official US Release Date!
After months of speculation and rumors, an official US release date has finally been given for Advent Children. The movie will be released on April 25th for both DVD and UMD as a special double-disc set. Unfortunately Last Order is not set to be included as a special feature.

You said we like others said anything. Speak for yourself . I am still buying the english one when it comes out on dvd and this one on my cpu is more for an AMV that I will be working on.

I find the special features very lacking, especially since that was apparently the reason for taking such a long time with the NA release. They look suspiciously identical to that of the Japan release. And even worse, Last Order isn't included, at least in the description. Until the special features are elaborated on, I'm disappointed in the second disc.

So IGN says that April 25th is the official release date. Being as what was posted on the official North American Advent Children site, I'll believe it. There's been enough time for them to do what they've needed to do with it. I'll be expecting it on the 25th.

The word is directly from Square-Enix itself. It's finally official. The last link Koz posted there was the official Squenix press release announcing the date.

Do I hafta play FF VII to get what this whole movie's trying to say?

I dunno, but you should play it regaurdless, it's one of the finest console RPG's, and to many it's the best Final Fantasy game, in existance.

I'd say to get the full experience and to fully appreciate what the movie stands for, yes, you need to play FFVII.
