"It's a Sith Vengeance Device," says Kuylen. "A triumph of Sith determination, but a very nasty piece of technology. Oddly enough, it was actually designed for use against other Sith, rather than the Jedi..."

"Really now? What does it do?"

can't..no force abilities....but they're probably even larger than the ones on belseraphon.

(I thought that was only our force senses we couldnt use.)

Rah goes over to the lecturn to look for any controls to the doors.

Takuan follows rah

No, the lectern is bare stone, Rah.

-

"Do you have a thermal detonator?" asks Kuylen.

"Kuylen. We've come across some huge stone doors with no apparent means of opening them. Is it possible there's a control mechanism for them in that control area you're in?" Rah asks over the comms.

"I'll be there soon," says Kuylen.

great

"Yes, I have one," Galder replies. "Or a few. What, does the Vengeance device do the same thing?"

Kuylen produces one.

"There is a microscopic baridium fragment at the centre of this," he says. "It is the source of a thermal detonator's explosive force."

"And I take it that the crystal is a big chunk of baridium," Galder says. "Designed to lure graverobbers and blow them up instead?"

"Galder," says Kuylen, "I said it was a microscopic fragment in that detonator. That baridium crystal weighs several thousand tons."

"Good lord," Galder said, looking at the baridium. "I'd say it would do more than put a hole in the planet..."

Rah goes over to the doors and gives them a good push. If that doesn't work he tries again using the force to aid him.

Far too heavy, either way, Rah. The doors are securely bound.

-

"Saar?" asks Kuylen.

"Not enough to blow up the planet," says Saar. "That would take more power than I can comfortably comprehend. But it would take a fair chunk out of it, and destroy the biosphere. NOTHING would live on this planet again, above or below ground."

Kuylen nods.

"In essence it is a rather extreme self-destruct," says Kuylen. "Some Sith Lords used them as a threat to other Sith Lords; 'come strike at my fortress and I guarantee you won't win a damn thing', that kind of thing. Is it wired into anything as a security measure also, Saar?"

Saar is checking the controls.

"Just a single system," says Saar.

"Probably the entrayway to Demnos himself," says Kuylen. "We'll be fine so long as no-one tries to force those doors."

ooh...so i CAN try and use the force against them?

No.

Rah keeps looking around the room while waiting for Kuylen.

Kuylen will arrive in the room a few minutes later, leaving Saar to work out how to disconnect the device. He looks around mtaking the grandness of the chamber in.

Galder continues to watch Saar at work, seeing nothing in case Saar's hands should slip and blow them all to pieces.
