I for one detest being a girl, I really don't see any advantages. I know there's the whole 'getting away with murder just by smiling or crying' thing, but my pride wouldn't let me do that, childbirth looks like more trouble than it's worth, I feel stupid in skirts, I can't walk in high heels, I've got no patience for makeup, shopping for clothes bores me, I don't see the need for more than 4 pairs of shoes, in general all the things that go along with being female bore or disgust me.
I prefer hanging out at the local pub, playing darts and watching rugby.
I'd much rather be a guy.
Conventions on how men and women are "supposed" to behave are ver artificial. You know how in saxon cultures men are not supposed to cry? In our kin latin cultures, men are able to cry often.
I think also that "maternal" (nurturing) instincts are encouraged in girls and suppressed in boys. Male and female are not that different. Most likely, you two just don't like the unnatural double standards.
