Thanks Syren. πŸ™‚

I broke 10K today. Not sure where I'm at right now...probably close to 11. That should make me happier than I feel, because I don't think I have 50K worth of material on my characters at this point. I'll probably struggle to hit 30 unless I think of where I'm headed (I have a bunch of wonderful incidents right now, but nothing resembling a central plot).

And I might actually still be on pace (it's only the 7th). But that will change soon.

I finally finished the Prologue to my adaptaion of the matrix RPG πŸ˜„

Originally it was going to be Marduk at the end, but then I thought that as he had recieved vital intel he would probably be stuck in meetings with the council until we all met up in the briefing room, so I changed it to San, the only person Cloud really knew from the first mission, who would come to check up on him.

I'm only an 'Also Starring'?

Gutted. πŸ˜›

It's good, though.

This time I decided to do it as Combat/Philo, as last time I didn't mention any of the philo's story, and from the "coincidental" looks of things we're getting split from the off. Otherwise you would be a main character, and all the new guys would have been also starrings.

Ah, good to know I deserve pride of place. I'll count that as a moral victory, then.

Hate to let the faithful down (not really, since it's justified) but I've put aside the novel temporarily.

I'm at about 11K. But life is a b*tch and a half right now. And I also didn't know quite where the story was headed. I feel like there's a lot of potential, but I'm going to wait until I have some direction. Spontinaity is good too, but it doesn't help to not know what I'm writing 500 words into the future.

Heh, I barely know what I'm going to write 5 words ahead of where I am...and I'm at 16k right now (wrote hardly anything last two days). I seem to write better when I've got no plans.

I at least need a plan....I deviate from it lots, but I can't just wing it.

And right now I have some cool short-story-type chapters that involve the same characters. But so far I don't know what my main plot will be, and I have to get into it soon or I'll lose the narrative momentum.

I find that if I have a plan, I feel like I HAVE to stick to it, and then feel bad about letting it deviate.

My novel is actually a number of subplots that together make up the same plot. Unfortunately writing the parts that string together the subplots is boring and largely pointless yet need to be done. I find those parts I tend to have trouble with getting done quickly. But I have started the subplot that will eventually lead to the end of the novel.

And I reached 20k this morning. Should be halfway on word count this weekend. The story itself though could go on forever...heh.

Can anyone let know who won the short story contest?

Scythe?

Feanor?

Help me out here...

I don't even know. firefirefireph

Thats right Rex run around in circles instead of answering Scythe's question

I think the judges declined to vote because of the lack of entries? But, if I was asked which one I preferred, it would have been Feanor's. Both were good though.

Well, didn't help that Rex never actually named anyone as judges πŸ˜›

Well that's highly unfair, both Feanor and I worked(hardly in my case) quite hard on these works of literature. The lack of entries should've only made things easier to judge. REX? Don't leave me hanging.

Well, if you want an air of finality, I would 'judge' Feanor's more worthy of the win, although I liked them both.

It seems Metal Mouth may have faired better in the Comic Book section. That's okay I'm about to update it and give it a place in the realm of Christian/Fantasy Fiction... Not yet, but I just wanted to know if anyone else gave it a peek... Maybe ...?

Second place isn't bad, the win goes to Feanor in my opinion.
