(Yes, Ush I am still in the lower level...)
Gundark quickly reached out with the Force and examined Vorton's psychological level. Fearing bringing other Force sensitive guards down upon her, she refrained from using any type of mind trick on him. "Easy, Vorton," she began with a disarming smile. "This isn't what it really looks like."
"Then why don't you tell me what it is you're doing here Kellan. I never thought I'd ever see you again and here you are, a damn Jedi no less, obviously breaking into a secured facility where you have no business being." Vorton had lowered his blaster but Gundark was aware his finger was still on the trigger. She carefully put her sabre back on her belt and let her hands drop casually to her sides. "I've been sent here by the Jedi Council on a priority mission," she began, deciding to use the direct approach. "Since you couldn't possibly have the security clearance level required to know the details of this mission, I can't really tell you anything." Knowing Vorton as well as she did, she knew that would be enough to confuse as easily as the mind trick. Vorton eyed her uncertainly and when he spoke, Gundark knew she had him in the palm of her hand.
"Well, I suppose...I mean..you're not supposed to be in here Kellan. If you're caught...well, its not going to be pleasant. Pelloran has guards and assassins everywhere....and, well, you are my friend.....", his voice trailed off and Gundark jumped on his words. "How do I get to Pelloran, Vorton ? Is there any other way up the volcano other than the cable car ?" Vorton's eyes betrayed him as they flicked toward a rectangular grate in the wall behind the clothes lockers. Gundark followed his gaze and groaned inwardly. "An air shaft ? she asked. Vorton nodded. "When you reach the top level, you'll come out into a maintenance room much like this one. From there, I have no idea how to access Pelloran," Vorton told her. Gundark worked quickly as Vorton spoke, prying the cover of the shaft off with a tool from a nearby workbench. "Thanks Vorton," she said. "Put this grate back in place after I've climbed in and forget you ever saw me."
Vorton hesitated then hugged her tightly, released her and stepped back. "Goodbye Kellan," he said slowly, watching her climb into the air shaft. "Maybe we'll meet again," Gundark told him. "Under more pleasant circumstances." Vorton nodded without saying more, and replaced the grate in its frame.
Gundark found the air shaft to be pitch black as expected, and pulled a small light from her belt. She hoped the shaft didn't become too steep or too narrow for her to wiggle through. She glanced back at Vorton, who was watching her through the patch of light from the maintenance room, but his face was in shadow and she failed to read his expression.....
