Edna decides that although she could learn lot by witnessing kuylen's victory, she must find out what is going on so she heads towardsthe incoming security forces with a stern look on her face, hand on lghtsabre, trying to lok authoritive! How dare they interupt in the middle of Kuylen's moment of glory! This has to be the doing of the Jedi. She knows it. They will pay for this!
"You have been working for Kuylen for a long time. He has equal outhority around here. Why this blatant disreguard for his orders? What is so important that Pellaron wants you out here?" Asks Edna looking deep into Hade's eyes and trying to get a sense for th guy's emotion. Or perhaps even loosten his mind a little into letting some information slip.
You feel your sabre make contact with something as you dive for cover, and hear a cry of pain. As you dive behind the bunkers, a series of shots thud nearby you, and there is a large explosion of a proton torpedo launcher as one of the more heavily armed guards fires, blowing away most of your cover in one shot.
With a smirk, Hade carries on into the Concourse where the duel is taking place, taking the heaviest guards with him. Some 20 men are left in the room to deal with you.
Meanwhile...
Quam;s fight is ovber. He was clearly proving the superior, but pirates have intervened down there to end the fight as well. They are led by Arashan, Pelloran's personal assassin, armed with a nasty repeater rifle and grav-boots. Quam is surrounded on the rooftops in the slums of the lower part of the base by about 50 pirates in all, with the struggling Jedi still nearby.
Queeq, the pirates seem to fear the Jedi more and most of them are firing at him. Arashan, however, ses you as the bigger threat. With a quick skip, he starts to slide sideways along the surface of the rooftops, and opens fire with his repeater rifle. And you are gtting SOME fire from the pirates. Quick thinking time!
Quam block the first laser bolts easily with his sabre. But there's fire from several directions. He Force Jumps up and makes several backward flips to another roof. Midway in his jump he pulls out his tommy blaster. Upon landing he sends down several bolts of the explosive tommy laser in the direction of the pirates.
In the distance where the pirates are several explosions accompanied by an intense light take place, as Quam blocks a few more shots from Asharan's gun. "Too much, too fast..." Quam thought in an instant as he let himself fall off the rooftop backwards.... out of sight of his attacker.
"Throw your sabre!" yells the Jedi desperately at you, as he starts to jump away in a different direction. Irritating man.
Everythinggoes deadly quiet for a moment as you drop out of the fight. You can hear the noises for clumsy pirates thudding towards you as they try to smoke you out, but gliding along on his grav-boots Arashan is silent. Still, you can feel him if he comes close... but he won't be stupid enough to run straight into you; he'll leave that to the pirates.
Well, now the hunt begins... though you never really enoyed being the hunted. Arashan is a trained assassin as well; not some clumsy Republican guard.
Of course, your skills are the superior... but this was no isolated incident, of course. Arashan was clearly acting under orders; the pirates have betrayed you. You don't have any idea how they could be so stupid, but they chose their time well- with two of your number off-world, and you busy fighting already. This is no co-incidence; this has been a plot to kill you all!
The whole base is hostile to you now. Your besat option is to find a way back up; not only is your ship there but your co-Fallen Jedi as well.
Edna pokes her head up slightly to survey her surroundings. She needed cover and she needed it quick. At the moment speed was her only aly. Using the force as her strength, she focuses and jumps up onto what is left on the bunker. As her feet have barely touched down she uses the force and jumps high into the air, summersaulting and landing down behind the rather slim protection of a large but rather crude looking potted shrub. Stopping only long enough to catch her breath, she then jumps high again, this time landing on the top of a control box, most liekly containing the environmental controls for the concourse and maybe even the poor operator still inside. She quickly lies flat on her stomach to make herslef less of a target. From here she could get a much better view of her enemies.
Certainly the sheer scale of your jump surprises your assailants, as shots fly behind you.
Several guards are climbing grav-shafts to get to you, ad the one with the proton torpedo launcher re-loads.
There is suddenly a vast noise from next door where Kuylen is fighting, as 50 people or more fire their guns simultaneously.
