USH'S GAME EPISODE I-"AVALAR" - Dark Side (Edna Witch, queeq, Captain Rex, yerssot)

Edna moves reluctantly towrads the outstretched arm, takes hold and pulls herself through the hole feeling quite foolish and embarrassed that she had relied on Kuylen to pull her out of the mess she had gotten herself into.

Edna, the Concourse is FULL of bodies. It looks like the middle of a War Zone, which is not far from the truth. There at at least forty dead guards scattered over the area- on the floor, in the balconies and several piled at the edge of the cabe car station (which has now mostly been destroyed). The dead bodies have sabre cuts and burns.

Kuylen is idly flicking his sabre. His calm and tranquil face contrasts badly with the extreme emotions you can sense flooding from him- extreme, but controlled. He is VERY angry.

He looks back at you as if he has only just noticed you.

"Did you see where Hade went?" he asks.

Quam's dark fighter appeared above the two dark Jedi as it descended and landed near Kuylen and Edna. A faint crushing of dead bodies was audible as the gear hit the ground. Within moments Quam stepped of the short ramp looking around, cool and reserved as ever.

"Looks like I missed the party. "

When he was close to Kuylen he looked at him. "So what was that all about?"

"Hade betrayed us," said Kuylen. "I guess you ran into a similar problem. I... dealt with the problem but Hade got away.

"The Jedi are stuck down below. The pirates may kill them; I am not sure. They aren't our concern any more. If Pelloran, Hade and the pirates have betrayed us our entire operation is in jeopardy.

"We can't get off this rock while the anti-air defences are in operation, nor can Chion and Krisha land. If we can knock out the control room for the defences we should eb able to run the blockade.

"I need to know if we can rely on Faylar and our allies on Damagran. if he has betrayed us as well..." Kuylen falls silent for a moment.

"We must move quickly. We must destroy the control room for the defences, and someone must find Hade and find out who ordered him to do this. Like I say, I don't care what you do with him once you have that information." Kuylen strokes his baerd, brisdkly.

"I'm heading to the control room. You two can come with me or look for Hade. We'll meet up in orbit when we are done. Quam, you have your ship, of course. I have mine, and Chion and Krisha will fly together.

"We must concentrate on our mission for now. After that... we will make a demonstration of how foolish it was to betray us..."

"Sorry!" says Edna once Kuylen has finished talking "I didn't have a chance to see where Hade went. The last I saw of him after he revealed his betrayal was him walking into the middle of the concourse towards yourself and the Jedi. And that was before..." Edna breaks off and lowers her head, obviously embarrassed by her pitiful attempt to defend herself against Hade's Guards.

Kuylen fixes you with a cold stare, Edna.

"Find him," he says. simply. "Try his private quarters. And he can't escape without his ship, which is up top on the landing pad."

"I'll find him."

Edna walks off in the direction of hade's quarters avoiding looking at Kuylen. She knew the chances of him being there were pretty slim but part of her was greatful for that, as she realised how awful she was at defending herself, let alone fighting someone like Hade. He had always creeped her out. But at the same time part of her hoped he would be there so that she had a chance to prove she wasnt completely inept to Kuylen and even if he killed her, atleast she would have died doing something that made Kuylen Proud!

(Ahh, how sweet...)

Danger wise, you know that Hade was always accompanied by 10 heavily armed bodyguards. At least three are clearly dead, you having seen their bodies. But even if more than that are dead you don't feel like a frontal assault here.

Edna decides that no matter how much she wants to see the guy dead, confronting him head on at the moment would not be wise. She quickly takes a change of course and heads on up to the control room.

You've been to this room a dozen times. Always it was full, busy and noisy. Now it is almost totally deserted and darkened, lit onl;y by the eerie glow of a hundred moniotrs feeding information from the many security sensors. You can't see anyone around but you can sense people nearby.

Edna, knowing that any operators still in the room would be far more scraed of her than she was of them walked straight into the room and began the porcess of searching through the images from all the security cameras, desperate for a glimpse of Hade or soome sign of where he might be heading next!

A lot of sensors are out, damaged in the fighting.

There is a large battle going on downstairs! The Jedi are desperately fleeing on a large hover-vehicle, chased by pirate fighters. Their damaged vessel is rounding the bottom of the volcano, making for the docking bays. One Jedi is not on board and is trying to get through the lower station to keep up.

Hade is not in his room, but he HAS been recently. He has not made it to his ship. He is somewhere in the livjng quarters area- probably trying to get upwards via any route that does not involve going past the Concourse- and Kuylen.

Edna dcides to go down to the living quarters to find Hade's room and search it for any clues as to where he ay have gone. He may be brutish but he could also be stupid. She was relying on that!

It takes a couple of minutes to get down there. You touch the button to open his door, and are suddenly overwhelmed with a feeling of extreme danger...

As the door opens, Edna feels deep into the force to help her propel herself into the air and roll as far from the door as she can manage and then jumps up with her back against the wall and her Lightsabre lit, ready for defense.

Away from room= good move.

It was a bomb. A shockwave and fireball rips through the room and down the corridor, but with your danger and future sense you manage to keep clear of the blast!

Hade was a tricky bugger, you remember...

Edna, annoyed that anyhing she may have found in the room is of course now destoryed, walks to the door to take a curious peek at the carnage inside.

The room is, indeed, destroyed. However, Hade seems to have already taken much of his gear.

Hmm... he seems to have taken some time to cut a hole through the floor... a dark passage leads down into the bowels of the upoper complex.

Edna moves closer to the hole, ligtsabre still lit, listenong for any sounds that maybe coming from somewhere inside.

The faint rumblings of machinery. Now you think about it... it is is bathroom he has cut the hole in. It leads down into the waste reclamation systems...

...which in turn could lead him to the lower part pf the volcano, and safety!
