USH'S GAME EPISODE I-"AVALAR" - Dark Side (Edna Witch, queeq, Captain Rex, yerssot)

"I'm not sure! I guess it depends how good you are at your job! A new republic cruiser landed about an hour ago. I want to know who dealt with their landing authorisation request" Edna says eying the senior officer. He seemed nervous. A little two nervous perhaps but she still couldn't tell if that was down to the fear of her as one of Kuylen's people. At present she had no reason to believe that this man was her traitor but he may well lead her to who she was looking for. Quickly she scans the room with the force trying to get a better feel for the fear in people's minds.

The man looks annoyed at having his schedule disrupted, but decides that co-operation may be a good idea at this time...

"Republic cruiser in the outer bays," he says in a bored voice to the controllers. "Ho dealt with it's landing clearance?"

There is a pause as he waits for the information to be processed. Eventually one of them comes forward and he turns expetedly to hear the information.

"There does not appear to be a Republic Cruiser on the Landing Record," says the junior controller. The senior man looks alarmed; double checks the cameras clearly focussed on the big shiny red Republic Cruiser in the outer bays. The senior man points out that ther cruiser IS there. The junior man just shrugs.

"Um... I don't know what to tell you..." says the senior controller. "There is no record of this ship having landed..."

What they do about this problem depends on how you treat them now.

"No record at all? How on earth could that ship have landed without any authorisation?" Edna looks at both the senior officer and the junior "Is there anyway that someone may have perhaps tampered with the records to cover up their landing request?" The question is aimed more at the junior officer than the senior, whom she has no respect for whatsoever and appears to her to be no more than a bumbling idiot!

"Umm..." said the junior office,r hesitantly. "Well, I guess it is POSSIBLE that the record may have been altered after the ship landed... but only the controllers have access to the computers..."

"There is NO WAY that ship could have landed without clearance," insists the senior man, anxious to re-assert his authority.

Edna looks at the senior officer suspiiously. "I didn't ask if it could have landed without clearance, I asked if anyone culd have covered up giving them clearance!" Edna isn't sure if this man is hiding something or just trying to save his incompetant neck!

"I was just saying it wasn't a failure of trafiic control!" says the man, sweating slightly. "We log ALL incoming ships! I cannot help it if we are sabotaged!"

The junior controller is working on the computers, trying to find some info.

"You have great confidence in your men! I sincerely hope that confidence is not misplaced! However I did not say you had been sabotaged. I asked if it was possible!" Edna turns to the younger man who seems a tad more helpful! She hopes she can trust him and takes a different approach. "You seem a man of many tealents!" She says with a wry smile on her face "Would you be able to tell if any data had been deleted or tampered with in some way?"

"Umm... that would depend on who had done it..." says the man, "and hwo well.. I can't FIND anything. But if there ever WAS clearance for that ship, then SOMEONE in this department must remember it... not as if anyone would forget a Republican Cruiser arriving here! Um... but it wasn't me..."

"Now," says the senior controller, "I think you have bothered us enough for now, Miss... we are very busy..."

"I don't care if you have a job to do! So have I! And I will not leave this room until I have found the person who gave that cruiser clearance! So I suggest you either stand aside and let me do my job or I will move you aside! Don't push me! You are already testing my patience little man!"

The man splutters some more.

"I am NOT a little man! I happen to be in CHARGE around here! And if you do not leave I will call security?"

"Anyone clear a Republican cruiser?" calls out the junior controller, 'helpfully'.

Edna is no longer interested in hearing anyone's answerto the junior officer. This man has pushed her too far! perhaps a display of her power might scare her traitor enough for her to identify him! Yes! This could be interesting!

"I should watch what you say if I were you! You obviously have no idea who I am. Either that or a blatant disrespect for those stronger than you!" She says unconvincingly trying to make herself appear tall. This ofcourse is the idea. If he feels stronger than her then he might just push her to breaking point! Then she could have some real fun!

"You can't just come in here and bark orders at me! Who do you think you are!?"

That was it! How dare he treat her like someone lower than him! "I'll show you who I am!" She said feeling the force flood her body. The rage made her feel powerful just like it did al those years ago! She had more control over her power now though and she reveled in satisfction as she saw the officer stumbling backwards grabbing at his throat!

Your Force power is immense, if a little uncontrolled. You will very likely kill this man unless you stop soon! That is not necessarily a problem, but it may cause trouble with the pirates.,

The others in the room are VERY scared. You can feel their fear washing over you, refreshing you, feeding you...

One... in particualr... seems very scared indeed and... and... confused?

The senior officer gurgles.

Edna senses the confused ifficer. His confusion and fear intrigues her. She concentrates on hm trying to pinpoint him. Her rage is falling. Her grip on the man ralaxing. Although he is still pinned to the wall, he isno longer turning blue. If only she could find this person!

The Force guides you... you walk through the PLA, almost in a trance... until you come to a man,,, shaking slightly... it is officer PL-663319... and he has something to hide, you KNOW it!

She stops in front of him. simultaneously she opens her eyes and releases the senior officer from her grip! She can see the fear in his eyes. He's trembling before her. She fels almost sorry for this pathetic excuse for a spy. "What is your name?"

"I... I... I..."

Edna, something makes you stop, briefly... someone has ALREADY messed with this man's mind... carefully, not blatantly like you are... but the Force has ALREADY had an effect in this weak-minded fool.

It can only be the Jedi!

Damn it! They got to him first! So was he ever a spy at all? Would they really do this to one of their own people. They are the jedi of course and capable of anything. Well atleast she knows that he is no longer a threat to teir security! Damn it! She wanted what he knew aswell! maybe she could try and get something out of him. If only she could think of theright questions to ask. But she knew she didn't have the control to make much more progress! This ade her angry. Very angry!

She looked at the officer sitting in front of her. She pitied him. He was so week and pathetic! Now she didn't know what to do. Se didn't wan to disappointKuyln by going back ampty handed. but if she was going to accomplish anything she had to think quick!

One thing DOES occur to you, Edna... if a Jedi came in here, wouldn;t the others have noticed?

Yet one of them had to be here. But they couldn;'t have tricked EVERYONE.

What could that mean?

This one could die before you got the info you need. Now is the time for a bright idea...
