yes that's it! 😛 I was close... lol

dude, im sorry i had to do that. i like correcting people. it makes me feel good😛

No problem, I do the same thing....I'm just more focused on something else right now. I had a 2 hour photography session earlier today and now I'm sorting through all the negs. 😛 I'm signing off for the night though 'cause I keep getting distracted. LoL 😄

Laterz!

But theoretically there is no reason why torching the sky shouldn't have worked...

What the hell are you on about?

It did work.

Mordecai's right - torching the sky did work, hence the need to use humans as battery packs! Think of a laptop - you're working on it when it's plugged into the wall and a storm knocks the power out, the battery in the laptop immediately takes over and the computer stays functional for a time. Now imagine that the laptop percieved that blackout as a threat and the attacked you, maming you but keeping you alive enough that it could use your body's energy to supplement its own battery power.

defintily likely...

Holes in The Matrix Movies

Yeah, I hate it when that happens.

I have a question.(Please don't make fun of how pathetic I am) Not really sure if it's a hole or not. But here it is. Exactly how was the God of the Machines able to um, you know, 'speak.' It's been a while and I don't recall Deus Ex Machina having any vocal cords or speakers on it. Did it just talk to Neo through the Source and give him a face to focus on? Or am I missing something?

And also the humans nuked 01 with nuclear weapons in the Anitmatrix. But don't nuclear weapons have EMPs on them? (I heard that in science class or Oceans Eleven. Not sure which.) If so why didn't that stop the machines?

Anyone? Help me.

First of all, sound is just a vibration in the air. If you recall, there were thousands small machines that were an extension of Deus Ex that flew around Neo and then formed the humanesk face. When Deus Ex spoke, it appeared that lips moved and sound came from those lips. In actuality - it is possible. This is because the thousands of little machines that made up the face are propelling air to fly. If all the machines changed throttle power in the correct patterns they would vibrated the air and make sounds that come across almost vocally. The next factor would be their repositioning as they did this. In reality, it wouldn't be as clear as it was in the movie, but it is possible. Also, you don't know for sure if there weren't some form of speaker system built into those smaller machines, or even into a portion of the larger Deus Ex himself.

Yes humans dropped nukes on the Machines, and yes nuclear warheads cause EMP - that's where EMP was discovered. But what is not understood about EMP is that it can only affect electronics that are within a radius, and the war was spread across a large area of the globe. Undoubtedly machines fell during the war of the second renaissance, but radiation doesn't harm machinery, and so the machines were able to rebuild over that which was bombed, and they were able to do so quickly, efficiently, and without having to rest or wait years for populations to grow - unlike humans. If a large portion of people die in a war, we have to wait years before there are more to take their place, the machines, at most, had to only wait hours.

You heard it in Broken Arrow with John Travolta, Ocean's Eleven, and probably science class - amongst other places.

Thank you Metamorphisis.

Good explanation. That'll work😄

Reloaded hole

The height at which Morpheus puts his sword in the side of the truck during the freeway chase changes dramatically

- sometimes it is low (when he grabs the keymaker)
- sometimes it is high (when he uses it against the agent)

Mook

I'd agree that this is a hole - however, I know quite a bit about cameras and angles.

What happened is, when Morpheus grabs the keymaker, the camera that was used to film the scene was a wide angle camera, and it was filmed from an angle above the sword.

When Morpheus sees the sword in the side of the truck when he's fighting the agent, the camera is filming from below, using a telephoto lens.

What happens is, with wide and standard angle lenses, relative position of things in the photo appear quite normal, but when you shoot with a telephoto lens, the longer the focal length of that lens the shorter distance appears between objects it's photographing. This is known as "Perspective Distortion" and "Compressing Distance"

If you don't believe me, read for yourself here:
www.cybercollege.com/tvp011.htm 🙂

But he sticks it at the top of it, but then when it shows it again, it's down at the bottom of it, far enough down for him to stand on it.

Your point? The actual position never moved - it's just an optical illusion from different camera focal lengths. I'll rewatch it, to double check, but I work as a full time photographer - I'm pretty familiar with that "illusion."

its not an illusion, as The Unknown says;

"But he sticks it at the top of it, but then when it shows it again, it's down at the bottom of it, far enough down for him to stand on it."

if its far enough down for him to stand on it would be too far down for him to grab and vice versa.

re-watch and tell us what you think.

hmmmm... trouble meta... trouble...

Ok i think this may be a major hole...

At the end of M1 when Neo is being chased (after the subway).

He runs into what appears to be a dead-end.

He says on the phone "need a little help!"

then Tank replies "Door!"

this scene implies that the door was provided by the operator - this is impossible though as they cant change the matrix.

is this a major hole??

Never had that indication... I think Neo was just a bit spacy and didn't see it. 😬

Mook

First, about the sword - I watched the scene again, and I stand by the distance compression of a telephoto lens. I'll post scene shots within the next 24 to show.

Second, your comment about Tank. You know when you're really frantic how you can get "Tunnel Vision"? Well Neo was running fast and turned the corner expecting an alleyway, but when he saw it was a dead end he didn't think about doors or anything, just "Help!"

Also, Tank didn't just say "Door!" he said "Door! .... to your left...no your other left!" indicating that Neo never even SAW or LOOKED for a door.
