Obviously as people in general are selfish, they would apply their own characteristics to a higher power.

Actually, no I don't. I haven't asked "God" for anything since I was in 6th grade. Shit didn't work back then, and I don't expect it to now. Selfish my ass. I do my own work.

I agree with Fire, TO, and ItV... If I were to have children, I would love them and care for them whether or not they constantly praised me. In fact I would recognize that children take many things for granted and probably wouldn't praise me much. If a human can recognize this... Surely GOD himself can recognize it?

So, would you continuely help someone that you didn't know? You need to develope a relationship w/him. How do you get to know him, if you never spend time w/him? thats all prayer is, talking w/Jesus. You're not going to help someone alllll the time, and this same person keeps getting in the same trouble day after day, how would they ever grow up and mature if you did? they wouldn't. You have to develope a relationship.

Well, since we were given free will, why can't God just let us solve our own problems and be glad we're not always nagging him? Why does he insist that he solve our problems at all?
