Nope I don't believe in the Holy Spirit

Well unless I am mistaken christianity believes that we are all Children of God, if this is true, A) God knows us all well enough without prayer, B) I would help my child every day even if I never got to know it.

C) God is supposed to be all powerful, I'm not it takes for more time and energy for me to always help someone than it does for an all powerful being,
D) Ppl who are helped, with big problems not small ones, grow and mature all. But your god won't do that unless you pray to him,

sorry but that is IMO a lousy parent

PS: you did it again :"You're not going to help someone alllll the time"
don't tell me what I'm going or not going to do

El Barto: (i dont go to curch thank god)

ummm who are you thanking then? i mean if he doesn't exist and all.
And...just cuz some people are like that, does not mean all christians are like that.

now you just told me in another thread you didn't know much about the holy spirit, so how do you know that you don't believe in him? if you were ever in a church service and seen and heard the holy spirit, i don't know you couldn't.
Have you ever?

The Word of God tells us to repent from our sins: Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

and sin no more. have you developed a relationship w/him? it's not a one sided thing here. why shld God give you anything, when all you do is deny his very existance. IT takes both of you!

umm ok your remark was uncalled for

Not sure where i wanted to post this.. but my foster grandma seems to get a lot of prays anwered.. Like today I was trying to start up her car so i could drive in it.. it would not work.. so my foster dad did.. still nothing.. then she got in it.. prayed. .. then it worked .. it was really weird. .. She also had other things like that happen..just thought i would share. ..

It's an expression for crying out loud... like "goddamnit" or "jesus god" or "for christ's sake". You don't have to be religious to use a damn word 🙄

FE> God created us to have free will, as you have so adamantly insisted in the past. Surely then, he must recognize that humans are thinking beings, and that seeing no proof of his existence is not a sin? And as most of us in this thread have said many many times, does God not love us all UNCONDITIONALLY? Meaning he loves us all no matter what?

Fiery Eyes> What do you think of this possibility? Assuming your god exists, wouldn't he love people who don't necessarily believe in him but lead good lives and treat others with respect? This seems more like a merciful, compassionate and understanding god to me. I don't think a loving god would give you free will and at the same time give us the ultimatum "Believe in me and come to heaven or don't believe in me and burn in hell for all eternity". If that were true, it would be as if god were holding a gun to all our heads. Don't you think?

i believe that most of these counterpoints to your points do not deny nor admit an existance of God...but they question that if God loves us unconditionally, why then are the few that sin should be punished if they did not repent...

a father will forgive a wayward child because he loves that child...can God do no less? that in my opinion honest opinion is what these people are asking...

to quote biblical scriptures is anathema to most if not all that would read your posts and will most likely be on the defensive and find you blind to your faith...so i quote:

can the blind lead the blind?

They might say, DAREDEVIL does. 🙄

Well FE from what I heard from you I don't believe that such a thing exists, I have been to several church services, seeing as I was raised a Roman Catholic. But no I never encountered the Holy Ghost, and frankly I found the teachings I got about christianity far more believable than the "believe anything the bible says to the letter mentality" However I still don't believe the teachings which I was given

I don't see why, I don't believe in God, so I don't believe he does anthing, meaning he does jacksh*t

"meaning he does jacksh*t"

Even with that, you're giving him too much credit. 😛

Well WhiteEagle that is exactly how I was thought about Christianity, I was always thought that God does in fact forgive everyone, and you don't have to believe in God to go to heaven.

Again I don't believe in it but it does make more sense than what FE tells me

maybe

he/she /it is meaningless to me so is the bible

Do you believe in the Holy Spirit,
just as much as I believe in Casper the friendly ghost

Yes, I do. People at my church sometimes start speaking in them. I want to get the gift of speaking in tongues, but I think I'm going to try to be more Christian-like first. 😊
