Britney Spears

You're right Silver_tears, she does seem to be gaining again. Maybe there is an element of truth to all these K-Fed accusations. Did you hear the latest? he was apparently caught trying it on with.................Paris Hilton.
God, I hope that isn't true. Britney may not be looking fabulous at the moment, but she'll never be worse than Paris bloody Hilton!

Okay, finally I got some real news in here based on important religious events in the world today.

Oops, Spears switched religions again
Britney Spears is covering all her religious bases.

The singer — who was raised a Baptist and has famously studied Kabbalah, a branch of Jewish mysticism — now is apparently dabbling in Hinduism.
The “Oops, I Did It Again” crooner was spotted at a Hindu temple in Malibu, where she reportedly was getting a blessing for her baby son, Sean Preston.
“Apparently, Ms. Spears can’t make up her mind which tune to dance to,” Rick Ross of Cultnews.com tells The Scoop. “I’m sure her mentor [and Kabbalah enthusiast] Madonna will not be amused.”

There's no news on Brit really at the moment, only media specualtion. She's keeping a fairly low profile, but it's nice that she's spending time with her son.

Ok C, I have a new game to suggest. Discussing Britney songs. I'm going to list all of her songs from each era, and you have to tell me which ones you haven't heard (and I'm talking seriously here! 😛 ) I'll upload a clip of each song you haven't heard and theen you can listen and comment honestly on them. We can then decide which Britney era was the best and why, and which era was the worst and why. What do you think? We have to do something to liven this thread up!

Ummm, I think I posted some news on Britney two posts ago! As she lines up to sacrifice goats and chickens, I think that hardly classifies as keeping a low profile.

As far as the song game goes, let's get it started!

You're a nutcase! xx

Ok - ...Baby, one more time era:

The last four songs were unreleased.

Ooooh, I'm afraid this is going to be rough if you're talking about the songs I haven't heard, for I can honestly say that I've only heard "Baby One More Time" from your list. bag

As far as titles go, how about "E-mail my Heart?" What's that one about?

You can't be serious???? What if I help you out by posting some music video gifs? They may jog your memory as to whether you've heard the song or not?

As for the others, I'll make a start on them a.s.a.p, and no treating me like I'm an idiot or you'll get the same treatment back. 😠 E-mail my heart is about E-mailing someone's heart......or in layman's terms sending love notes via e-mail. 😛 😆

I'm ready, but I'm warning you, don't get your hopes up. But...as you said, some may jog my memory.

Hey, no fair! I'm already being accused before I even start! kisss

Off the top of my head, I can think of 2 songs I know the tune to. This may be a shocker to most, but the names of these obscure songs are "Hit Me Baby One More Time" and "Oops, I Did It Again."

I can, however, name about 80 songs by Megadeth.

This new project is proving to be quite fun! It sure is taking some time though (to make the gifs)

Here's the first one; this is a clip fro Sometimes. If you get any problems downloading the clip, let me know.

Okay, I managed to get through 6 cycles of Sometimes (all 31 seconds of it). That link worked pretty good.

The song features deep lyrics like, "All I really want is to hold you/be with you day and night," and "Sometimes I'm scared." If I have a word or two wrong I apologize, but listening at work doesn't exactly allow me to blare the song at full volume, so I have my ear next to the speaker.

That being said, I'm not sure if her lyrics are about Justin (All I really want is to hold you) or Kevin (sometimes I'm scared), but they are indeed riveting. The beat sounds like something that Britney took as a "parting gift" upon her split with Justin Timberlake. It sounds like something 'N Sync forgot to erase on their Casio keyboard and was stolen.

All in all, I give it a 7.0/10.0, and please keep in mind that this is a Britney - not universal - scale. I believe the song was a success and accomplished what it intended to accomplish.

This is the ...Baby, one more time era, Justin wasn't in the picture. She was actually dating Reg Jones at this stage. But interesting points! Don't forget, the idea is to decide which era was the best and why.
Anyway, I have some more for you:

I will try to keep the eras straight, so you might need to help me as I do them one song at a time.

I'll review these as time permits.

Bet you wish you'd never agreed to this!!!!! 😆

Well, here's some more. Take your time!

You Drive Me Crazy

Well, crumpets to Betsy, I've heard this song before, though it hasn't exactly driven me crazy trying to figure out who sang this.

"My heart was jumpin' / It's easy to See / Loving you was soooo much more / More than anything I've ever felt before"
These are words I've always wanted to say to someone, but didn't know how to exactly express myself. Because when my heart's been jumpin' in the past, it wasn't always easy to see. 🙁

Deep into my second review, and I don't believe I've uncovered a major discovery as far as musical talent for Britney's musicians are concerned. The guy hitting the "Playback" button on the synthesizer seems to be doing a great job, though.

Overall, I'm having trouble relating to the early-years song (because it sounds just like that - before she knew what was going on), and I hope ones in the future get better.

Spears-O-Meter: 5.0/10.0

I take it that was the album version you were rating. I'd be interested to know which you liked better out of the album version and the stop remix (which was released).

Here are the unreleased songs from this era.

Interestingly enough, this next song was the first song Britney ever wrote herself. I wonder if she's proud of it................... 😮 .......
Presenting I'm So Curious

Don't be worried about offending me, I really want your honest opinion. This is pretty funny! Once you've reviewed them, I'll give you MY honest opinion, then we'll move on!

You Drive Me Crazy (Stop Remix)

As much as I was hoping against it, it's the same chorus as the original version. In this fifty-two second sample, I was disappointed to hear the lyrics about "My heart is jumpin'" - clearly the song's strongest point - was much different than the last version.

Just when I was afraid that all would hit rock bottom, there was the music to this remix. Fortunately for the song, the music is 107,423 times (exactly) better than the original version, but unfortunately is still behind the music of "Hey Diddle Diddle."

So while this sequel is much worse, it's also considerably better. At one point (38 seconds in), Britney yells something like "Let's Get It On," but since I'm at work I couldn't turn the volume up to hear what the yelping actually was. Maybe if I knew what she screamed out, the song would've had a better score.

Spears-O-Meter: 4.5/10.0

Current Standings
"Sometimes" 7.0
"You Drive Me Crazy" 5.0
"You Drive Me Crazy - Stop Remix" 4.5

Born To Make You Happy

At this point, I'll take anything without the words "Drive" & "Crazy" in them, but holllld everything, folks. This is actually a song that qualifies as a song!

After a rather boring start to the sample (first 34 seconds), it kicks into gear as it leads into a chorus that features a radio-synthesized Britney voice proclaiming that she was "Born to Make You Happy." I was expecting the song to fall into a tailspin, but instead it shoots for the moon! (haha)

I'm not sure who the intended target is...a parent, a hormonely-challenged 14-year old, or a hormonely-erupting 16-year old. Whoever it is, Britney is ready to do whatever it takes to make you happy.

Spears-O-Meter: 9.0/10.0

Current Standings
"Born to Make You Happy" 9.0
"Sometimes" 7.0
"You Drive Me Crazy (original)" 5.0
"YDMC (remix) 4.5" <--hey, its initials are almost "YMCA"

Soda Pop

Warning: If you become nauseous at songs which mention "Sh-Bop, Sh-Bop," Soda Pop may cause you to lose your stomach. This 90's song with a 50's flair may leave a flat taste of cola in your mouth, as it tastes more like Mello Yello than Mountain Dew - and that's a bad thing.

"Show me what you got / Take a Pop Shot." What does this line mean? On second thought, I don't want to know.

Spears-O-Meter: 2.0/10.0

Current Standings
"Born to Make You Happy" 9.0
"Sometimes" 7.0
"You Drive Me Crazy (original)" 5.0
"YDMC (remix) 4.5" <--hey, its initials are almost "YMCA"
"Soda Pop" 2.0

britney spears is a joke, end of story...she was eye candy, no talent, and she's not even eye candy anymore
