Britney spears is mint i think the press should leave her alone she a real down 2 earth girl ,& when she was younger & "perfect" that wasn,t the real britney because she was new the press n managers ect tryed to make her seem perfect & virginal when really it was an act & now shes being her self shes getting critisized for it its unfair no 1 in life is perfect either is she accept it & shes really pretty and talented

Botankus, you've really made me laugh! I can't wait to hear what you have to say on the others. This is by far the best game we've played yet. You should have been an official reviewer!
Ok, now my turn on the reviewed songs so far. Sometimes was the second Spears song I ever heard. I was 18 at the time and I really liked it. I must confess, I kind of outgrew it a long time ago! But it's a nice enough song for what it's supposed to be.
(You Drive Me) Crazy - The Stop Remix - I heard that when I was flicking through the music channels and came across MTV - Making The Video which featured the premiere of the music video. I was fascinated by the choreography and it was what started my interest in dancing. So I really like that song, but only to dance to! 💃
The album version IMO is only good for singing at karaoke.
Born To Make You Happy is one of the few songs from this era that I still like. I don't listen to it very often, but it's definately one of my faves from this era.
Soda Pop - finally we agree on something! Soda Pop SUCKS ASS big time. The first time I heard it (I bought the album after Born To Make You Happy was released) I was seriously embarrassed for Britney. I do try to remember that she was only fifteen at the time, but it makes me cringe. It was apparently used in a Pokemon movie. 😮 😘

Patiently awaiting reviews on the remaining tracks!

Thinking About You

The first thing that comes to mind when listening to the chorus of "I spend my days (thinking about you) / I spend my nights (thinking about you)" is...when the hell does she get to actually see him since she only thinks about him 24 hours a day?

Once you get past that confusing storyline, the vocals aren't that bad. Now I realize this is from the early era, so I'm not sure if they regress or improve after this album, so I'll hold my tongue overall until we can get on down the line.

Overall, it's a moderately catchy tune, but no where near the catchi-ness we all discovered when Britney told us that she was born to make us happy.

Spears-O-Meter: 6.0/10

Current Standings
"Born to Make You Happy" 9.0
"Sometimes" 7.0
"Thinking About You" 6.0
"You Drive Me Crazy (original)" 5.0
"YDMC (remix)" 4.5
"Soda Pop" 2.0

You'll have to give a score out of ten for ...Baby, one more time as well! We have to calculate all of your ratings!
Thinkin About You is IMO a reasonably forgettable song. I didn't find it appealing at all. There was a remix that was a lot better though.

Keep in mind it's a Spears-O-Meter, so it's only being compared to her songs.

I'd say anything 5 or less is forgettable (especially that bloody "You Drive Me Crazy" - can't believe I didn't dream that tune last night). I'd really say a 7 or higher would be considered good by her standards, with a 9 or 10 being superb. So far only one song's reached the promised land - but you said you liked "Born to Make You Happy" too, right? So we agreed on 2 things: "Soda Pop" and "Born to Make You Happy," eh?

Yeah, I suppose your right, that is two things! I have to disagree with you on Crazy though. Surely if it's stuck in your head, it served it's purpose as a true Pop song?!!!

I Will Still Love You

This reminds me of the most overrated pop song in music history -"Waterfalls" by TMC. That song hit #1 and had about as much complexity and originality as my foot squashing a bug in the middle of the road. I think "I Will Still Love You" is much better than "Waterfalls," however - but that's not saying much.

There is also a connection to the pop diva Taylor Dayne of the '80's in the vocal patterns. Again, that's not a good thing. It reminds me of the song "Love Will Lead You Back."

When it comes down to "Waterfalls" and "Love Will Lead You Back," there's nowhere to go but up.

p.s. Who's this Don Phillips guy and where is he featured?

You can hear him mumbling in the background.

Can you provide the link for "Baby One More Time?" Oh, and when we get to it, the link for "Oops, I Did it again?"

Autumn Goodbye

When the 23-second sample started, I thought I had accidentally clicked on a link to a McDonald's commercial. You know, one of those "modern" commercial spots where Ronald McDonald is chilling with a bunch of 14-year old girls as they're dancing around the restaurant.

"From April through September / Bittersweet was the love we shared / You forget, I remember / I can't promise you a happy ending." Against the grain of a thumping bass pulse on my little office computer speakers, that's what I made out the lyrics to be. So it seems that when the Summer's over (not you, G, but the season 😉), so is their relationship. I guess the love interest must be leaving her for school in the Fall, because I don't think Britney went to college. I didn't hear anything about probably losing him to some cute floozie at a wild party, so I don't think that crossed Britney's mind as they said their goodbyes.

This song does have a bit of intrigue, and I wish the sample was a bit longer to hear what happened to this relationship as the leaves changed their colours. My guess is that it imploded, but as long as that beat keeps going, I don't see any reason for them to fret.

Yeah, I've already made my gif for Oops! So I shall work on one for ..Baby. Autumn Goodbye............................for me the Jury has ALWAYS been out on that one. The first time I heard it was six months ago, and it's a little too young for me.

Deep In My Heart

If you ever feel a deep craving for bubblegum, I would suggest checking out this tune.

The lyrics include such promises and heart-wrenching proclamations such as: "I'll never let go / 'Cause I love you so / Oh-oh...I want you for the rest of my life" Those are scary statements! I wonder if they were directed towards Justin, Kevin, Shar, or Bit Bit.

"Deep in My Heart" tries to get those dancing juices flowing, but compared to "Autumn Goodbye," it's Deep in Its Shadow.

I'm So Curious

"Let me Know / I'm so Curious (do ya love me) / Do you want me the way that I do 😑 / I'm so Curious / Am I just a game? / Do you feel the same?"

For everyone that was hoping that this song was Britney's coming-out party, you can forget it. It's actually along the lines of grammar school, when you had a friend pass a note to the shy girl asking if she wanted to be your mate. Britney apparantly is feeling a little insecure on this one and is very nervous about finding out if some dude who she'll probably dump in two weeks loves her.

The regular musicians were apparently on vacation for this one, as now they've hired horn players (or a keyboard player who has a Horn button). Not a good effort, and I'm so curious - was this song released? I hope not.

And her music sucks cock too. 🙂

And thanks for the in-depth analysis, buddy.

Okay, Britrogue, more reviews of the Casio Queen tomorrow!

No problem. 😛
Are you a big Britney Spears fan?

Are you a big Britney Spears fan?

Look through the last 100 pages of this thread (seriously, last 100 pages...and the times where I thought Britrogue was going to fly across the Atlantic and personally strangle me to death) and you should be able to answer that yourself.

So, yes?

*I'm kidding

Botankus? A big fan? 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

I am deeply offended. I would never strangle you. Slap you around for irritating me on a bad day maybe........... 😉

You're lucky I like you. And once again, you've had me laughing with your "Oh so honest" reviewing skills.

Deep In My Heart - I can't even remember how that goes, but I'm under the impression that I don't want to.

I'm So Curious - Worry Ye not, luvvie, that was an unreleased number. It was a B-Side on the Sometimes release, but never made the album. (We all breath a silent sigh of relief.)

So, by my reckoning, that leaves us with E-Mail My Heart, I Will Be There, The Beat Goes On and I'll Never Stop Loving You to review.

Oh, and I changed my siggy to go with the era! 😄

Oh I forgot about From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart and ...Baby, one more time. Here's the link for the latter....
