Britney Spears has checked herself into a rehab! Spears' manager Larry Rudolph issued a statement to Celebrity Babylon that reads: Britney Spears has voluntarily checked herself into an undisclosed rehab facility today [February 20]. We ask that the media respect her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time."
It's no secret that the former pop star has been in a downward spiral for some time, and her cries for help have gone unheaded by those around her. Part of the problem is that those "friends and familly" aren't going to tell her the harsh truth, because they are reliant on her for their living. Her mother Lynne, for example, lives in a $4 million home in Kentwood, Louisiana, that was designed, built, and paid for with her daughter's money. Dad Jamie was a construction worker, but those days are long forgotten, as he now is part owner of a restaurant in Las Vegas. His daughter's money even paid for his time in rehab back in 2004.
With everyone on the payroll, it isolates the star, creating the wacky incidents that make headlines time and again. Tom Cruise attacking Brooke Shields over taking prescribed medication to treat post-partum depression comes to mind. While Cruise had a publicist for years to reign him in when he had urges to speak off-the-cuff, he fired her and put his sister in that role, to disasterous results. How is a sister, with not only the familial ties but the financial dependence going to tell a celebrity to "put a cork in it?" It's just not going to happen.
It's easy to see how Britney Spears, 25, got completely off track and lost from the goals she had as an up and coming singer from small and humble Kentwood. Combine that with an obsessive need for attention, as all big stars have, and you have a recipe for disaster.
We here at Celebrity Babylon have seen it all with Britney, the good, the bad, the bizarre, and the just plain silly. With all of her ups and downs, she seems to bounce back, and we think that there are two major factors that will snap her into reality, and that's her sons Sean, 1, and Jayden, 5-months. The ongoing custody battle with Kevin Federline, 28, is added incentive for Britney to make sure she gets herself healthy so that she can be a real parent and not have to hand them over to her soon-to-be ex.

I don't read tabloids and I don't care about celebrity, but it is impossible to escape the whole world just loving to watch her suffer. Remember that this is a human being we're talking about- and who wants to be like those horrible people that have hurt you to feel better about themselves? Everybody's Fool is about the fact that the whole celebrity thing is fake and empty. I think Britney Spears is more aware of that now than anyone. I'm not trying to burn you at the stake, Strat, but it would mean alot to me if you'd take your clip down.

I don't feel Brit is misunderstood. They're is no excuse for all the partying, the booze, the drugs. Going around showing your @$@@@^. She seriously needs help. Coming in and out of rehab will hurt her, not help her.
Rumour has it she left rehab because of the swarming media, and she'll check in somewhere more private and secure.
I really think she should just be left alone now, and for one thing, prove whether or not it is the publicity she is after. If the media stopped following her around everywhere, it would be interesting to see if she started really going nuts to try and attract their attention again.
And if she truly is in trouble, and not looking for publicity, by leaving her alone, she'd have the time and privacy that she shoudl be entitled to to get better.

Spears quit the Promises Treatment Center less than 24 hours after arriving and hid out in a hotel with a friend. But last night K-Fed called for an emergency hearing regarding the custody of their two children and gave Britney an ultimatum “Go back to rehab right now and I wont go to court today.”
The ultimatum comes after Spears drove out to K-Fed’s house and banged on his door for twenty minutes, screaming into the intercom “I know you’re in there. Open the door, I need to talk, let me in.” After no response she drove around the block and came back to repeat the process 5 times.
One can only hope that Britney has come to her senses and that she gets the help she needs.

I don't think K-Fed had anything to do with Britney going back to rehab. Why would Federline help her? I don't think its out of goodness. Britney should have gotten help a long time ago. Obviously it is not too late. I still think that the threat of losing her kids will snap some sense into her and she can get help for whatever problem or problems she has so she can come back strong and tough.
