The traitor might not have been a traitor in TPM. Lucas just said that someone on the JC knew what was happening.

When the Jedi start to fall maybe this guy jumps ship and joins Palpatine to save himself. Then Palpatine kills him anyway.

No. I don't remember the exact quote but GL basically said that someone on the JC knew the Jedi were in trouble and that things were going to change.

Yoda has to be 100% good. Otherwise the story doesn't work properly.

Yoda has to be THE good guy. He has to be for the light side what Palpatine is for the Darkside so that the story is balanced.

And Mace is the only other Jedi who was developed in TPM.

Yaddle would be NO suprise at all. Nobody would care if it was her. This Jedi who hasn't said a word so far suddenly joins Palpatine wouldn't be a suprise because we couldn't really care less what she does.

It has to be someone we like,think is good and a main character.

No because he's not important. It has to be a main character. Not a background character. If Ki-Adi Mundi was a traitor would you really care?

You don't want Mace to be a traitor. That's exactly why it should be him. You don't want to beleive that Mace could go bad and that's why it would be so great.

But I don't think it will happen anyway. Lucas said it a long time ago.He could have changed his mind.
