Uh, I have never thought Batman was a 'treat.' I don't view him that way. Whatever you do in your bedroom is your business, but don't bring it here. Anyway, you said Batman had the better rogue gallery and you implied he's fought villains more powerful than Spider-Man's faced. If Mercilous is correct in what you were trying to say, of course Batman has faced foes who are stronger than Spidey himself, but you're forgetting the first rule of comics. Good guys win 9 times out of 10. The writer's going to find a way to let Batman win, whether it makes any sense whatsoever or not. Spider-Man is a hero, one that is right now probably more popular than Batman and at least equal to in popularity. As for your beloved quote, it's not as cool as you think it is, lol. Batman virtually has to beat Spider-Man to a pulp to get Spider-Man's attention, Spider-Man on the other hand has to knock Batman out with one punch and then swing home. That is the more likely scenario.

joker is the single greatest villain in comic history imo. no hes not the strongest, but his character surpasses that of most. and he's been more consistent in batmans life than goblin has been in spideys. He has done so much damage to bats, to discard his contribution would be ridiculous imo.
1. He didn't just kill Gwen. He more or less 'raped' her and impregnated her with his spawn just to hurt Peter *as shown in recent storylines* before he killed her.
2. He has tried to kill MJ but even worse he kidnapped her and Peter's baby and bribed a doctor to tell her it was stillborn. He still has it somewhere.
3. He caused Peter's best friend Harry to turn against Peter, learn his identity, put his life through hell, and eventually died. Basically Norman caused the death of his own son. He also tried to kidnap his grandson and turn him into the next Green Goblin. The kid was like 5.
4. He kidnapped Aunt May and replaced her with an actress who was dying *stupid, stupid, stupid plotline* and thus convinced Peter that his aunt was dead.
5. He was the first to learn Peter's identity and threatened to tell the world so many times it's a wonder Peter hasn't developed ulcers.
6. He killed Ben Reilly, Peter's clone and the closest thing he ever had to a brother.
7. He stalked Peter, trying to manipulate him into becoming his own heir and nearly turned Spider-Man to 'the dark side' so to speak.
There are many other things he has done that I can't think of at the moment. As you said, in YOUR opinion Joker is the best villain ever.I'm not discarding him, I'm just not that impressed by him. He's an interesting villain no doubt, but there are better. He hasn't done worse to Batman's life than GG has done to Spider-Man's. It's comparable, but does Joker know Bats' identity? The clown prince of crime is the greatest and most well-known villain of all time. Wizard rated him #1 in the 100 most dastardly villains and so would any other knowledgable source. ...............Green Goblin and the Joker are on in the same, cept for two things, power difference, and GG isn't a coward. Instead of go himself, joker would have goonies set bombs and stuff. Joker only handles bruce upfront when he has a trick up his sleave or he is testing bat's patients to kill him.
But that is besides the point. Spiderman wins. Bats' has no mental powers, so physical damage is your only outlet. Spidey is too fast and smart for nething else to work. In the end it comes down to powers and abilities. Both are pretty much equal in the brains department, cuz both use their brains all the time. Both are genius' and are good thinking during battle. Bats' can't hurt Spidey. his hardest hits (if he could land ne) are like love taps. When you take hits from Thor, Morlun, Hulk, Venom, and Thing, and keep coming, no human with human based strength is going to be much of a threat.
