Would anybody mind explaining what actually happened at the end of the battle with Ansem?
And how relevant was "Chain Of Memories" to the story plot?

is it comprehensible.....

Not a problem. At the end of KH1, Sora fought Ansem through seven different sequences, until finally, sapped of nearly all his strength, Ansem opened the door to Kingdom Hearts, intending to be filled with the darkness that he was sure reigned inside. Instead, as Sora knew, Kingdom Hearts' true nature was light, which poured over Ansem, evidently destroying him.

Sora and pals then attempted to close the door to Kingdom Hearts, and found that it was swarming with Heartless. The King appeared inside, along with Riku, and told Sora to lock the door from the outside. As Sora closed the door with Riku's help, Riku told him to "take care of her." The door was closed, and Sora locked it with the Keyblade.

With the power of the Heartless diminished, the remains of the destroyed worlds began to return to normal. Kairi stood upon the reforming sands of Destiny Island, and before they were separated, Sora promised Kairi that they would see each other again.

Sora and pals began to walk down the only path available to them, wondering what they had to do next. Suddenly, Pluto appeared, with a letter bearing the King's seal in his mouth. Sora, Donald, and Goofy chase after Pluto. Thus ends KH1.

Chain of Memories starts where KH1 ends. Sora and the others find their way to Castle Oblivion, where they first meet members of the Organization. One Organization member, Axel, tested Sora's strength and gave him his first deck of cards. Sora proceeded to use the cards to travel through his memories, but as he continued through the castle, each of those memories were lost.

At the same time, Riku had escaped from the locked Kingdom Hearts, and began battling up through the basement levels of Castle Oblivion.

Sora battled another Organization member, called Larxene, and afterward recalled that there was another friend he knew from the Destiny Islands, that he forgot: a girl named Namine. He learned that she was being held in the castle, and continued upwards, at on point battling a clone of Riku that believed it was the true Riku. Sora witnessed the death of Vexen, another Organization member, and then learned from Namine that what he remembered of her was fake, inplanted into his memories by Namine herself. Sora then allied with the Riku clone, and the two made it to the top of the castle, where Sora fought and defeated Organization member Marluxia, who had sought to force Sora to be his servant by twisting his memories. Namine put Sora into a special egg-shaped chamber, where he would sleep while Namine rebuilt the chain of his memories to the way it was before he came to Castle Oblivion. This puts Sora in position for KH2, a year afterwards.

While all this happened, Riku continued through Castle Oblivion, destroying the Heartless in attempt to rid himself of his own darkness. Ansem tried to take control of Riku again, but was stopped by the King. Riku also battled Vexen, his clone, and another Organization member named Lexaeus. After finding out that Marluxia had been killed, he was confronted by Zexion, yet another Organization member, and overcame him by embracing the darkness within himself (Axel afterwards had Riku's clone kill Zexion). After arriving in Twilight Town, Riku learned that the "Ansem" who had tried to take control was actually a man named DiZ, who was interesting in Riku and sent him to talk to Namine. However, his clone blocked the way, and he was forced to kill it. Namine told him that Ansem still remained within the depths of his heart. With DiZ's help, Riku faced and defeated Ansem, but as long as Riku commanded darkness, Ansem would still be in his heart. Riku accepted this, and set out on a quest to learn how to control his darkness, with the King as his companion.

So, there you go. Does that bring you up to speed? Note that Marluxia, Vexen, Zexion, Lexaeus, and Larxene have all been killed before KH2 even starts. In the intro movie for KH2, you see Sora battling Marluxia (with the pink scythe), intercut with Riku battling Ansem. These, along with those involving Namine and Sora in the "glass egg" come from Chain of Memories.

in kh1 did anyone think that sephroth was harder the ansum (sorry if i spell their names wrong)

He was. He had more HP, more stats, and everything.

Ok this is not really a spoiler, just for the open minded.

Spoiler:
Ok who else notices the hints of Riku/Sora in both of the games?

Kingdom Hearts.
- Hints at Riku's feelings for Sora
- Riku hands Sora the paupu (?) fruit and says something along the lines of 'I thought you wanted to try it'
- The two are best friends/rivals
- The night the heartless invade, Sora finds Riku and basically tells Sora to come into the darkness with him, and he does.
- When Sora meets up with him in Traverse Town Riku gets extremly jealous of Soras new friends. Why would he care so much if they were just friends?
- Riku probably began to use the darkness because Maleficent brainwashed him into thinking Sora didn't need him anymore. (Everything she said about Sora)
- Riku kept using people/things to get Sora to come to him (I.E. Pinnochio and Kairi)
- At the end Riku is trying to fight off Ansems power to save Sora
- At the end of the gameRiku sacrifices himself so Sora could be happy with Kairi. Now that just SCREAMS love.

Kingdom Hearts: II (Will contain spoilers)
- This is showing Sora's feelings as well as Riku's
Sora
- In the opening they are holding hands
- Sora gets down on his hands and knees and begs a member of the orginization so he could see Riku
- When Sora finds Kairi he's like oh Hi, but when he finds Riku he gets down on his hands and knees and cries.
Riku
- He keeps giving the gang hints about Orginization XIII
- He willing used the darkness to be able to save Sora, causing his apperance to be taken over by Ansem's with the chance he'll never look like him again
- He makes King Mikey promise not to tell Sora about him.
- He feels as if he cant face Sora after everything he did. (Remorse)
- When asked by Sora he was hiding riku says 'I didn't want you to see me... not like this.'

I havent seen the ending yet, so their might be more.

Thank you very much. I'm very much up to speed now, thanks to you.

I owe you one.

I also remember the scene they showed in Kingdom Hearts 2

Spoiler:
where they show Sora's memory in the beginning piecing together, as your playing with Roxas. They show Sora trying to remember the last thing that happened to him when he awakens and him and Donald and Goofy remember walking down a path and following Pluto and then this figure in a dark cape showing up in the path and then disappearing. They showed this as well. I wasn't sure if this was a scene made for this game or from Kingdom Hearts 1 like the rest of Sora's memory flash backs and piecing together had seemed to be.

By the way, how much of the ending scenes were CG?

I was hoping throughout the whole game that they would have more CG, but they didn't and that really made me mad.

I was thinking they would have more CG scenes in the second one, esp. from pics I saw. But It seems like those were all from the opening sequence. It was very good, but I would like CG scenes throughout the game as well and not just the beginning and end.

I know what you mean with the whole college thing. It's really cramping up my style. I'm unable to play Kingdom Hearts 2 throughout the week and can only play it on the weekends.

Luckily one of my classes is cancelled Friday and so I get to go home tomorrow, which is Thursday. So a whole full extra day of Kingdom Hearts 2 Goodness.

What are you going to do now that you've beaten it? I'd kind of feel bad that it was over so fast for me. But very good that you've completed in such a short amount of time.

Because I just recently went back to playing Kingdom Hearts 1 like over Christmas Break because I took a couple years hiatus from the game b/c I had gotten stuck at part, it doesn't feel like I waited years for Kingdom Hearts 2. It's like I played Kingdom Hearts one, then waited a few months and then Kingdom Hearts 2 came out. Just thought I'd put that little nugget of personal information out there.

Ok, so I'm looking up information on "Passion" and "Sanctuary" which are considered to be 2 Different songs with similarities.

So which one is the one Sung in the opening sequence and on the TV Commercials?

Will the one in the opening version be the one on the Kingdom Hearts 2 Soundtrack, because I would like to have the one in the opening sequence.

On the soundtrack that I've ordered, it was titled Passion, so I'm kind of confused now.

is it comprehensible.....

Okay, lessee how much I can answer...

In KH1, the ending was an FMV (Full Motion Video) from when Sora made the promise to Kairi through the re-creation of Destiny Islands. Then the regular graphics returned for the sequence on the road.

Chain of Memories didn't have any videos of the same quality as the PS2 FMVs, but the cutscenes did come close to PS2 gameplay graphics quality.

As for the "Passion" and "Sanctuary" thing, they are two different songs with a few similarities. "Sanctuary," the English-language song, was written first, but "Passion" is the song that accompanies the Japanese version of KH2. Utada Hikaru wrote and sang both, of course.

On that note, does anyone have th lyrics to Sanctuary? I'm liking it more and more every time I listen, but I'm having trouble catching all the words. It seems to have a deeper meaning than I first thought.

and finally, to those who have already finished KH2... I pity you. You waited months and maybe even years for it to finally come out, and then you finished it in less than a week? I just think spending such a short time on a long-anticipated game is kinda disappointing.

http://wiki.theppn.org/Sanctuary_(Utada_Hikaru)

That has the lyrics to Sanctuary.

I actually haven't heard that version yet.

And I gotta agree, I see no point in rushing to beat a game. I usually spend at LEAST 60 hours on RPGs I like. There's no way in hell I'd beat a game in a week, especially one as anticipated. You miss so much stuff by rushing through it.

(and speaking of KH music...I currently have Hikari stuck in my head for some reason...even though I haven't heard it in months...makes me want to find my Utada Hikaru CD I got years ago 😂 )

Ah, thanks, Lana.

And now that I've listened to Sanctuary several times, and got the lyrics straight, I must say that I like it. It may not flow quite as well as Passion, but the lyrics seem to have a deeper connection to the game itself.

I seriously feel like buying the KH2 OST...

*Vibrates while waiting for Sunday to come so he can play again* Must... play... more...

Well I played on normal mode, which was way too easy, so I'm gonna go back and play through on proud

After I've beaten normal mode, I'm definitely gonna play through again on Proud mode, if only to see everything. Jiminy's Journal is so huge... @@;

Yeah it is.

the only question is, to get the secret ending on proud mode, do you have to beat

Spoiler:
Seph?

check IGN

As I remember, the only requirement for the secret ending on proud mode is completing all the worlds. Which includes Atlantica and the 100-Acre Wood, but I don't think it includes winning all the coliseum cups.

I think I'm gonna beat the aforementioned character anyway. I couldn't last time, even at the same level when I beat the final boss. I'm going all out this time, though.

Yeah I'm gonna try too. I'm gonna go and start it over now

They were rendered on the PS2 and recorded to video, they were PS2 in-game quality, no questions asked.

I Love Kingdom Hearts.

Kingdom Hearts is one of the greatest creations of all time.
