They were rendered on the PS2 and recorded to video, they were PS2 in-game quality, no questions asked.
Are you adding something, or trying to start an argument? The compression of the video files made them slightly lower in quality, that's all I was saying. I'm still amazed that it looked as great as it did on the GBA screen, but it wasn't exactly the same.

Okay, lessee how much I can answer...In KH1, the ending was an FMV (Full Motion Video) from when Sora made the promise to Kairi through the re-creation of Destiny Islands. Then the regular graphics returned for the sequence on the road.
Chain of Memories didn't have any videos of the same quality as the PS2 FMVs, but the cutscenes did come close to PS2 gameplay graphics quality.
As for the "Passion" and "Sanctuary" thing, they are two different songs with a few similarities. "Sanctuary," the English-language song, was written first, but "Passion" is the song that accompanies the Japanese version of KH2. Utada Hikaru wrote and sang both, of course.
On that note, does anyone have th lyrics to Sanctuary? I'm liking it more and more every time I listen, but I'm having trouble catching all the words. It seems to have a deeper meaning than I first thought.
and finally, to those who have already finished KH2... I pity you. You waited months and maybe even years for it to finally come out, and then you finished it in less than a week? I just think spending such a short time on a long-anticipated game is kinda disappointing.
You're just racking up those I.O.U.'s aren't you.
I'm still unsure though of which version is on the Soundtrack I ordered. I'm wondering if the song is called "Passion" on all of the soundtracks and is still the version in the game or do you have to specifically look for a soundtrack that has the song titled as "Sanctuary" on it.
And I feel the exact same way about completing the game so fast. I guess the fact that I can only play the games on the weekends has it's ups because it causes me to take longer in completing the game.

I actually haven't heard that version yet.
And I gotta agree, I see no point in rushing to beat a game. I usually spend at LEAST 60 hours on RPGs I like. There's no way in hell I'd beat a game in a week, especially one as anticipated. You miss so much stuff by rushing through it.
(and speaking of KH music...I currently have Hikari stuck in my head for some reason...even though I haven't heard it in months...makes me want to find my Utada Hikaru CD I got years ago 😂 )
Yeah, Wikipedia was what I was on yesterday before I came on here and asked that question and I saw that page and the other one. They have 2 separate pages for each song, "Passion" and "Sanctuary".
So have you not seen the commercials because "Sanctuary is played during the Kingdom Hearts 2 commercials? Where did you hear "Passion" at?

Ah, thanks, Lana. And now that I've listened to Sanctuary several times, and got the lyrics straight, I must say that I like it. It may not flow quite as well as Passion, but the lyrics seem to have a deeper connection to the game itself.
I seriously feel like buying the KH2 OST...
*Vibrates while waiting for Sunday to come so he can play again* Must... play... more...
So you've heard "Passion" also huh? Where are yall hearing this version of the song at?
And yeah, I feel like Kingdom Hearts 2 is my drug. Throughout this whole week, I've been living off of the Kingdom Hearts 2 commercials. I deliberately click over the the G4 network or MTV to see if I can catch the commercials, because those are the channels I've seen it on the most. I've seen it 2 or 3 times this week, and I get all antsy and disappointed and kind of depressed when I'm without it and when I hear that Play-station Logo "Ding" sound, I immediately get this Euphoric sensation and I subconsciously and immediately know what it is and I look at it and I'm tense all the while and after it's over I take a deep breather and I swear you'd of thought I was a crack addict who had been in rehab for a week and had just shot up for the first time in some days. I feel so stress free and relieved after I see the commercial, but of course I want more.
I hope I don't come across to nuts, I may be exaggeration, at least I hope so, because after reading this..................
Anyway, b/c my class is cancelled tomorrow, I get to go home today and play it so that's good.
And then Tomb Raider Legends comes out next week, so I'll immediately have another game to turn to after Kingdom Hearts, but I won't have to buy it for some time b/c I'll be occupied with Kingdom Hearts for a long while.

Well I played on normal mode, which was way too easy, so I'm gonna go back and play through on proud

After I've beaten normal mode, I'm definitely gonna play through again on Proud mode, if only to see everything. Jiminy's Journal is so huge... @@;
Something new I find myself doing during this game is I continuously keep up and read each new thing in the journal and the character descriptions and events and everything. So if you were to go in my journal right now, you'd find nothing new, because I keep up with the new things as soon as they become available.
So do you not read the journal and all the other info. since you say you'd play the game over again to read all of the journal? Couldn't you do that now. I'm sure you mean something else but I'm just not comprehending.

Yeah it is.the only question is, to get the secret ending on proud mode, do you have to beat
Spoiler:
Seph?
What secret ending? How do you know about it?
As I remember, the only requirement for the secret ending on proud mode is completing all the worlds. Which includes Atlantica and the 100-Acre Wood, but I don't think it includes winning all the coliseum cups.I think I'm gonna beat the aforementioned character anyway. I couldn't last time, even at the same level when I beat the final boss. I'm going all out this time, though.
When you say last time, do you mean in the first Kingdom Hearts?

That it is my friend, that it is.
So I read somewhere else in this thread about how "Kingdom Hearts" is no different then the "Final Fantasy" series, being that there's no telling how many Kingdom Hearts games will be made, just as with the Final Fantasy games. Is this true?
Is It Comprehensible.....
@ powerfulone:
From what I've seen, if it's named Passion on the tracklist, then it's the Japanese version.
I've heard Passion from the Japanese KH2 intro that I watched before the American release.
What I meant about the Jiminy's Journal is that at a certain point, the Journal lists several challenges that you can try to complete in each world. The Journal isn't completed 'til you've done every one, and some of the challenges can get pretty insane. Nevertheless, to get the true ending on Normal mode, you have to beat every challenge. I highly doubt I can do that, so I was saying that after beating the game on normal, I'm going to go back through on Proud mode, where you only have to complete all the worlds to get the true ending.
And yes, when I said "last time" I was referring to KH2.
As for KH being like FF... I doubt that. I'm pretty sure that Nomura stated in some interview that KH2 was the end of Sora's story, and even if they decide to do another Kingdom Hearts, they've got a ton of other projects in line to do before they even think about a KH3.

Wiki rocks.
And actually no I haven't seen any of the commercials, but I almost never watch TV so that's not a surprise.
I like Japanese music and have been listening to Utada Hikaru for years and like her a lot, that's how 😛
Did yall realize that Sora's

Also on the Soundtrack there's 3 versions of the song and beside one it says "Opening Sequence", beside another it says "Orchestrated Version" and beside the other it says "Final Battle".
So are there 3 versions of the Japanese song as with the English one? I didn't think there was, I thought there was just the single.
Because if that's the case, that would mean those 3 versions of Passion on the disc would be the english ones. And I did read on Wikipedia that Sanctuary would be on the Western Soundtrack. Maybe they just didn't bother to change the name and kept it as Passion. God, this CD needs to hurry and arrive in the mail so my questions will cease.
Also, if there are different versions of the Japanese one, did they have like a different version for the opening sequence and etc, like english, or did they just have the original single as the opening version for the japanese Kingdom Hearts 2 because there was only one version?
Sorry about all the questions and if it's too confusing and jumbled up.
is it comprehensible.....
Spoiler:
Ariel's Finny Fin song is kind of catchy. Although I haven't found myself singing it or humming it, it's still kind of catchy, I guess just in the moment of the game that you're doing it.
