The Ring 2

Here's some new news regarding the sequel to the American remake of The Ring.

DreamWorks is moving forward with The Ring 2, hiring commercials director Noam Murro to helm the second installment of the horror hit, which Naomi Watts will once again topline.

The studio is preparing to start filming The Ring sequel in January, aiming to release the film in November, 2004.

Murro replaces Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl), who directed the first film, which generated $129 million at the domestic box office, and an additional $120 million overseas.

The sequel will bring back Watts and David Dorfman, as well as screenwriter Ehren Kruger. The plot is being kept tightly under wraps at the studio.

Murro caught the attention of DreamWorks executives with a darkly toned "Got Milk?" commercial he directed for the California Milk Processor Board that features a boy who can predict unfortunate future events.

isn't this old news? but anyway i didn't like the ring much...hope second one will be better.

i was watching the trailers before team america and i saw the preview of the ring two. my friend told me that the ring was actually based on 3 books. so i'm pretty sure there will be the ring three. anybody read the book or seen the original ringu movies?

Hm, i liked the first ring i tought it was a pretty good movie, but i thought that they helped that girl, so how is it going to continue?

if i remimber correctly .. they helped that girl by copying her "DEATH" tape. IE: helping her kill more people essentially so she let them live .

Ive never seen any of the originals, but my guess is that ALL tapes must be destroyed to end her killings ???

if you watch the ending of the first movie, the kid was telling his mother that she wasn't supposed to help her. i never really understood why.

zilverz> the kid meant that she (watts) wasn't suppose to help her in the sense that she wasn't supposed to solve her death or find her body in the deep well.

lol.. well hopefully the 2nd one redeems the first... I was expecting alot from the first one and got let down so :/

yeah, theres three movies made in Japan Ring, Ring 2 and Ring Zero, havn't watched them though, one of my friends has them but i dont watch them, didn't like the first one so i dont see any reason i'd like the second one, it relied on the old "no theres nothing there, what about here BOO" tactic thats tired and worn, not liking it at all. And wouldn't someone last alot longer than 7 days or whatever with water, i know you die quick with no water but she was floating in the stuff.

maybe she drowned or died from the fall?

possible, but they figure out that she did in 7 days, hence 7 days to figure out the puzzle....then again, i supose it is just a movie

The japanese film was bad enough. The American adaptation was even worse. Please...No more ring movies. Diddnt everyone get the POINT the first time around?

yeah, no shIt. the point was simple... don't watch the f*cking video. but, like itor not, there will be a third movie...

(i'm ashamed of this) i was scared of the american version but the japanese version had me rolling on the floor, laughing so hard with my friend.

i just saw the preview for it in "meet the fockers".

The second American Ring 2 isn't even a remake of sorts, they have made it with a different 'original' story.

I enjoyed the first remake immensely, and I am looking forwards to the second one with Naomi Watts, and Sissy Specek(sp?). So can't wait. Both good actresses.

lol I will have to see the Japanese version now 😊
