System of a Down

You can here the title song from Hypnotize on their site http://www.systemofadown.com/. Its pretty cool, I like when the drum solo kicks in. Btw, it does say the CD comes out the 22nd, not the 21st. I was wrong. Also, there are two versions of the CD. I plan on getting the one with the documentary thing in it (more out of loyalty than for the actual need to see it).

I've heard Hypnotize on the radio and the site a bunch of times, it's been stuck in my head for three days now 😂 I quite like it.

Has anybody heard the songs that Serj sings with Buckethead?
"We Are One" - This song is awesome. It sounds like it would have fit in very well with SOAD's self titled album (similar style but musically even better). I'v been listening to this song a ton recently. I recommend you get your hands on this song one way or another if you're a SOAD fan.

"Waiting Hare" - This song is Buckethead, Serj, and Shana Halligan (whoever that is). This song is still very well done but it is more of a soft rock/rock song. Definitely good as well but its not the same sort of badass song as the other.

I hmm.. legally downloaded it and would say its their weakest album so far. There trying to go in a new direction and its just not a very good one.

its the weakest SOAD CD to date. i only like 2-3 songs on it. i am highly disappointed and cant believe they could release something so awful.

Wow. Did you guys not like Mezmerize either? They kind of go hand-in-hand. Oh well, you don't have to like it. I love it the same either way.

As for the impatience, I couldn't help myself. I really don't see how there is really any downside to listening to it early anyway. Either way I'm listening to it over and over, it sounds the same, and I'm still going to purchase the CD.

i was impatient as well, and i have to say it's not as great as Mezmerize but it's still a nice album. i liked most of the tracks.

As long as you do buy it then no actual harm is being done. I just think it's shit that they work to produce this art and you can't even do them the justice of waiting for when they actually want you to have it.

It's disrespectful.

You do realize that System of a Down themselves have allowed MTV to put their songs on their "The Leak" site, right? Therefore, even SOAD doesn't care if we start listening to the songs.

regardless of that, supporting the artist/group is the right thing to do 👆

i'm not gonna buy hypnotize right when it comes out, cuz ima buy a few hip hop albums first.

They do care, but leaking in this day and age is near inevitable. Serj has said he doesn't like it but he's also said that if people are gonna be impatient, he'd rather them do it through his own hand than having people downloading some dodgy copies on the net from some idiot.

Which you all probably would have done anyway. It needs to stop.

Justin Hawkins (The Darkness) paid over £300 on eBay for a copy of their new album so that it didn't get leaked. Luckily they only distributed the album to a few music magazines and have the registration of who it was sent to. So he'll get busted and hopefully sued for all he's worth.

As long as you buy Hypnotise, then fine. I just think it's shit to be impatient.

i dont want to buy an album, then if i dont like it, i have to return it. the process takes too long (thats just me though). i download, if i like i buy, if i dont like i delete. simple as that.

So basically you download out of sheer laziness, yet you talk of supporting an artist. Quite hypocritical.

If you KNOW that buying an album and not liking it doesn't mean losing your money, there's no excuse for you not to buy it. None, whatsoever.

what if your trying to get a taste of what the band has to offer other than whats being played on the radio? download a few tunes? what if you dont like them, delete? is that disrespectful?

this is just how i feel about it 😄

Or if you can't return it....most stores that I know of won't let you return an opened CD unless it's for another copy of the same CD.

Yeah exactly. Laziness. It's wrong and there's no excuse.

If you think you might be interested, buy it. If you don't like it, refund it for an album you do want. Some places give money back. Just buy from a store you KNOW does that. Simple.

No excuse for not buying.
