The begining and end fact of it all is that pot doesn't effect people the way heroin does. By all means, keep herion on the wrong side of things. But, pot doesn't hurt anyone. In fact, there are too many people in jail due to pot, for no reason. I'd be happier walking down the street next to a pot addict than I would a heroin adict.

Read back over the thread. You'll see that I stil believe in the penalties for being stoned while you do something. But, you have posted from an ill-informed perspective. Let me say it again: Legalize drugs, like pot, but not heroin or cocain...but stiffen the penalties for using such substances while comitting an illegal act. Pay attention.

I think they should legalize all of em. People are going to do them regardless of their legality. Heroin being legal would be safer for heroin users.. when you buy heroin on the streets you are at a high risk of ovedosing because heroin has varying purity and potency, so you could take too much without knowing it. If it were legalized all heroin would have the same purity and you wouldn't have to guess how much is enough.
It would also be cheaper so people could afford to do it without having to go out and break into houses or sell their bodies for money.

So can alcohol, and it does so more often than pot.

Heroin, when taken chemically pure form has no adverse effects other than mild constipation.
Besides, heroin is illegal yet people still use it - chemically impure. Anyone can get hold of drugs - i have a very easy access to charlie. It being illegal does not stop people from taking it.
Also, you can't say to keep a certain drug on the illegal side and have the drugs you deem good on the legal side. That's not the way it works. Because to someone, heroin deserves to be on the legal side. If you don't like it's effects, don't take it. It's that simple.
I'm tired of all this "But the effects are..." no, shut up. Don't like it? Don't take it. Let those who want to be stupid and irresponsible with drugs, do so. You stick to living your life and others will do the same.
