People already do whatever drugs they want to do. I seriously doubt a large number of people are going to become drug addicts just because it's legal. People who don't do drugs just because they are illegal are probably pretty responsible to begin with.. and I can't see most of them doing much more than maybe a little experimentation to be honest.

No, you can't. It's selfish and ignorant.Heroin has terrible side effects, yeah we get the idea. What's your point? Because you don't like it, no one should be able to take it? What business is it of yours what drugs someone takes and what happens to them when they do?
So what if ecstacy is bad for you? How bad for YOU is it if you never take it? Not bad at all. So you stick to that and let others take what they want, otherwise you're a hypocrite.
Backfire nailed it.
Pot, biggest cash crop in America. Legalise it and kiss the deficit goodbye. Same with all drugs.

You like to just leap into the insults when someone disagrees with you, don't you? You start to show your age when you do that.
As for the economics of it, I brought that up a long time ago.

What about em?Don't take them and you're safe. What business is it off yours what Fred in Ohio takes? None.

If Fred just so happens to be the senator of Ohio then it's everybody business. The actions of the individual affect society at large. If Fred failed to do his job properly due to his cocaine abuse than everyone in Ohio would be affected.

Yeah, but if they were legal, then the money would be pumped into the economy, rather than into the undisclosed and untaxed hands of the drug lords.

Exactly. Heroin and cocaine is hard to get. Now imagine if it was made legal as alcohol? The consequences would be devastating.
You like to ignore things and pretend they don't exist when you're wrong, don't you? You show your hypocritical nature when you do that. Lest we forget I didn't insult you. Just lobbing that factual chestnut out there. Hopefully you will enjoy it. Or make like a squirrel and store it so that you're not caught out next time 🙂. All in fun.
Draco, answer my question please. You said what about more devestating drugs? I said what about them?
I'm asking you the same as I asked Capt. As long as you don't get involved with them, what business is it of yours what drugs people take? It isn't. Just because you don't like them, doesn't mean you can say "Nah, not letting you take that. But I wanna smoke pot." Because a normal smoker could say "I don't want you to smoke pot, but I wanna smoke cigarettes." I'm sure you and Capt would argue there.

It would be an inefficent market. If drugs impair the mental faculties of people to do their job than the corporations would suffer. The costs of healthcare after the legalization of drugs would dwarf the income of drug money.
Originally posted by Draco69Those drugs are not hard to get.. just expensive. The high price of those drugs just makes addicts even more depserate for drug money and can often lead to burglary or prostitution to support their habbit. That fails to address teenagers and children. Alcohol and cigarettes have been addressed to the younger audience before. What would stop the drug market?
We know how irresponsible our youth are with alcohol and drugs. Imagine the consequences of illegal drugs made legal. A whole generation would suffer. Education would suffer. Future workers would suffer. Our economic future would suffer.
Billy could be the curer of cancer.....until drugs were legalized and he bought cocaine and became addicted.

If that were to happen, yes. However, banning more "devestating" drugs on the basis that a member of the government might start using them is stupid.
What an extremely ridiculous comment.

Alpha, there's no need to act pretentious nor insulting. It's beneath you. Grow up.
That's just an example. Another one would be the effects of drugs on teenagers. Our youth are public goods. They are future workers, presidents, and contributions to society. If drugs were legalized a whole generation would suffer. Thus slowing the advancement of society itself.

You have to go to specific people in specific locations. Are you more likely to get crack in New York than Nebraska? Yes. Can you say the same for alchohol? No.
Drugs wouldn't be cheaper. The demand for drugs would increase rapidly. The addictions would increase to supplement this. The supply of drugs is not limitless. The market would fail.

Exactly. Alcohol is legal. And yet it kills more people than those drugs combined. Now if all illegal drugs were legalized, logically what would happen? Even more people would be killed.
Feel free to stop acting like a pretentious ass and debate respectably.
