The amount of Force put into the lightning that jolted Vader was greater than that of going to Luke. Palpatine was looking to torture Luke, and kill Vader. Vader had enough reason to carry on while jolted, which is why he went. The jolt however fried his suit and all it's cool workings.. =o

I once thought the same way you to did, and then I realized, so do Finiti and Yerssot, only they realized that to analyze the film, you can't bring in stuff Lucas didn't personally write because its suspect. Circumstantial evidence. Other intpretations. That's why they have a forum for it. We can make all the EU/Film connections in there (which I like doing too) but when discussing the film you only have Lucas to go by, because only he knows whats next for SW. he could throw all the EU out tomorrow COMPLETELY if he wanted to. And I'd have a whole shelf full of fan fiction that is no more valid than me writing a book of "Vader and the Emperor on Holiday". If you want to know where the cars going, don't ask the passengers, ask the person who's hands are on the wheel. they don't hate EU. they know that some do but some don't. We all know the EU contradicts itself. And as such, should be treated as a hostile witness.
I think they are strictly anti-EU meph, which is completely different to the way you caracterised them in the last post. They hate EU. They call EU "crap" in their posts. I agree with you of course. And if Lucas decided to dissolve EU, he would be making a big mistake and would encounter a lot of enemies. I for one would be one of them.
