Sephiroth is neither light or dark, most of his magic power came from materia and Jenova at the start, and by the end he was using the core of the planet to power his magic.
And the masume was a holy Japanese weapon of peace. When placed in a pool of water with leaves in it the leaves would move away so they would not get cut and it absorbed the blood of whoever it cut so they would die a clean death. (this is why there is no blood when Aerith is stabbed.) The opposite is the Murasame which Cloud can by in Wutai. Leaves in a pool would be drawn to it and instead of absorbing blood it repeled it from the body making massive pools of it everywhere. But the swords histories weren't given in FFIIV
By the way I wish to apologise for an earlier statment, it was never my intention not to include fatigue for Sephiroth but at the time I figured Link would be using a small sheild like a buckler which seph could break through before exhaustion set in. But I still stick to my full body sheild argument. this is the real world so neither Seph or Link would be able to handle the sheild or Masume like they do in the games, however the sheild would weigh a lot more than the blade since full bodied sheilds were developed for the spearmen who stood at the front of armies so they could recive decent protection whie stabbing with their weapon.
Also I stand by my description of the only way Link would win, because Sephiroth has only two weaknesses, the length of his sword which stops him from close combat, and his ego. Sephiroth believes himself to be a god (in fact he almost pulled it off in the game) so if Link capitlises on these he could win. But personaly I think Link would be killed since I believe Sephiroth is higher trained and could adapt better. Once agian I apologise to the Link fans for not making this a fair fight.
P.S Will DracotheDragon please answer my question. Are you using the flashback in Disk 1 for your 'Sephiroths only defence is magic argument?

Can you show me proof of where you read that? I'm not doubting you or anything...i just think it'd be cool to read about. I know it doesn't say it in the game or in the booklet that comes with the game.

I haven't forgot shit about Link. I still think i put up the best arguement on behalf of Link compared to the rest of the Link supporters. I just don't want to be like a few of the Seph fans that don't wanna face the fact that the fight could go both ways. And like i said earlier...i grow weary of this arguement...
