by the way, you could like the beatles or not, that is clear. But to deny their talent and their place in music story, its really annoying and absurd.
Ironically, you've got it the wrong way round AND committing a double-standard:
YOU can like The Beatles, but implying they are the best band ever in every way possible (which you continually do, and I continually whoop you) is absurd. More absurd than anything else.

AC, I don't discount what you're saying-in fact I like a lot of today's music...Alicia Keyes, AudioSlave, Green Day are very talented bands/artists. I think I just weigh the history/influence side of music more than you do, while you're focused on what is great today, which could be...(grrr) perhaps some of the greatest music also.
You don't weigh anything more than I do, you're just stuck in a time zone. No offense.
Hence why you said "grrr" when admitting that modern bands have produced some of the best music ever. There's no "also", they have. Especially from the 90's onward.
Why is it a bad thing that music is better now, for the most part? Well, where it matters? You're not a music fan if you're so stuck in a time that you would deny music it's right to positive evolution.
Their talent wasn't "great" even at the time. They weren't amazing musicians. Hence why it's stupid to claim they were anywhere close to bands like Rush, who are arguably the best in that area.
I'm not denying how creative they were in the day, I'm saying that claiming they are the best band ever in terms of innovation is now stupid. There are and have been better bands. If you don't prefer them, fine. You can't sit there saying that it's bad to deny The Beatles and then deny any band that came after who were quite clearly better.
