White Album

My Favourite Beatle:
John Lennon

My Least Favourite:

Best Album (maybe ever) : White Album. The cool thing about this album is, that it sounds just as fresh as it did 40 years ago.

From classic rock to pop to blues to pre-noise to experimental to whatever : a lot of different styles, but it works.

Other good albums : Rubber Soul, Abbey Road and Peppers of course.

I think the problem is : The Beatles wrote SO MANY great songs, and have had SO MANY hits, that people just take them for granted.

You know, Oh, just the Beatles, no big deal.

They are, by far, the most influential band ever. The best band, well that's up for debate, but I can't name one band that has had as much influence as the Beatles.

I couldnt be more agree with that post. You nailed it, dude.

How do we measure influence?

To measure beatles influence in general music and later musical generations would be almost impossible.

without them, probably 80% of music wouldn't be created

What a ridiculous claim in that form.

Cool, how do we measure influence?

Bardock, in terms of measurement , its impossible to evalue beatles influence in music, because its so big. I wont be so far as m.t. , but here are a reference: first group mixing several musical styles. First or second conceptual album. First video clip. And i could say a lot more.

Cool, how do we measure influence?

like these:

eg.

beatles = british invasion (Rolling stones, Who, Kinks, Cream, Animals, searcher, hollies, etcs)

then = black sabbath, led zeppelin, Bryds, Styx, etc

and goes on

So, you don't measure influence..you just state who you think had the most influence?

you measure it by success and media attention.

Talent or influence its impossible to measurements by dates, numbers or all that stuff. Only seee and heard what the beatles did in their time and see what things they did that it wasnt made in that time and what of those things were repited by later groups.
