Faith no More.
Great band, I loved them. Like most people, I only own "Angel Dust" and a few songs here and there, mostly the classics such as "Epic" (poor fish), "Digging the grave" (awesome song) and "We care a lot."
Mike Patton has one of the best voices in the pop/rock music, and I always liked his I do what I want attitude. He's the pop/rock equivalent of John Zorn or, in a way, Tom Waits.
I saw them once, and the intro music was The Final Countdown lol. And the way they appeared on the stage was hilarious. Good fun.
Now that I think of it, it was at a rock festival, and I was also blown away by Sugar (a screaming Bob Mould is always a joy to the ears). Even the Levellers were okay.
I'm drifting. FnM being influential ? Not really.
I have a question of my own. You listed artists that are influenced by/have covered a song by The Beatles, but for every one of those, I can name at least two bands that have been influenced by one of Mike Patton's bands be it consciously or obviously through listening to the music.
Hmmm... you'll probably hate this reply, but still : are these bands of yours the kind of bands who have like 3 singles, a small hit in Alaska and a questionable manager ?
With all due respect for those bands - I mean that - but well, you know, I value the opinion of experienced musicians a lot more than what's the name of that band again ?
Beatlemania
Of course, that was just a bunch of screaming teenagers. But that was only the first half of their career. The second half - the interesting half - they start earning respect with writing amazing songs.
When I talk about the Beatles, I always talk about the Studio Beatles. Before that, they wrote a lot of crap songs too. They even admitted it themselves.

Nothing special, I just thought of the Zappa satire "Only in it for the money"... that's actually a great album, full of original and catchy tunes.
