yes, i agree with feanor about how anne rice gives soul to her version of vampires and giving a different view to these immortals without being so stereotypcial like most we have seen in movies and tv. like buffy, angel, and the movie, van helsing. there's more to them than just blood thirsty mindless killers who can't help themselves from what they are.
exatcly!
when i tell somebody about these books (who hasnt heard about it before) they usually say: oh that must be some horror strories, full of blood and killing.
but these books are about far more than these things. its about human soul and that how ppl can deal with immortality...its about love (and it tells about love in a very different way cuz as we know anne rice's vampire cant make love so this part of love isnt important for them.)
so these books contein very very deep questions and everyone should know it before they say such supid things >.<

i also like the fact that they are not in essence evil nor do they morph into something so hideous...
and the way she explains that they are what they are not because they are opposite of a christian god, but that the source was possessed by a spirit who had a taste for blood...man that is so much better than Brahm's version...

but the blood drinking is sooo small a part of the story...how can they get so > shivery < about that...
dunno.....and anne rice doesnt write about it as if it were a horrible thing...she writes about it like a majestical thing, like life itself
but of course who wont read the books dont know it 🤪
