"Nothing." She lied. She took him by his hands. "So tell me, what do we do? Dance? Talk? Mingle?"

"You're lying. I can feel it."

She released his hands. "I wish you couldn't feel my feelings." She muttered. She decided to come clean. "I just don't want you to get your hopes up. I am still confused. I don't know who I'm going to choose yet."

Chenelle slowly swam into the crowd at the party. They quieted and made way for her. She wondered why...

"Yes I know. I could feel it. But the public has decided. It won't seem so important when the war comes though. Sometimes I wish I wasnt an Empath too... its hard, knowing when someone is deliberatly trien to hurt you, stuff like that."

King Thay was nervous, for the first ime in a long time, he was nervous. "Would you like to dance Lila?"

She smiled, but before she could answer she saw Chenelle in the crowd.

"Um, hey..." Chenelle said, walking up to Lila. "Could you tell me where we are?"

"Lila? Would u..?"

He saw Chenelle. He felt confusion and slight fear. She didnt know who she was. "You're in the Palace fo the king, errr... me, King Thay Roogna." He turned back to Lila.

"Roogna? What an odd name! And we're in a palace? Hmm. Well, then, you wouldn't happen to know who I am y any chance?" she asked, gazing at the palace.

Lila just looked at Chenelle confused, she then directed her eyes onto Thay as he answered. She focused back on the mermaid who used to hate her. "Are you feeling alright?"

"ROO-GNA. You will have too discover that on your own." this was getting increasingly awkward. The crowd pretended not to notice, but they were wondering why they weren't fighting. He could feel it.

"Lila, she doesnt remember..."

"Huh?" she asked Thay airily. "What will I have to find out?"

Lila looked at Chenelle. "Are you hungry? Do you need anything, m'lady.. I mean, miss. You look a little pale." How could she have forgotten?

"who u r... ur history, ur life, we cannot tell u that. Enjoy the party miss." He took Lila's hands and let her out to the dance waters...

She followed Thay to the dance floor and danced with him.

As hard as it was to dance it water, Lila'n'Thay still managed to to do it with exceptional skill.

She followed his lead, occasionally being twirled. Her hair stayed perfect all while they daned. He was a very good dancer.

He bent close during one of the breaks and whispered "I love you, Lila"

She looked down. "I can't say it yet." She whispered back sadly.
