"I know how you really feel, Lila. I know. You love us both. Im sorry ive made this such a difficult choice for you, but..."

She looked up at him and placed her finger gently against his lips. "Let's just enjoy the night." She whispered smiling.

"I'd enjoy anything I did with you, Lila." "let's eat dinner"

She nodded and kissed him on the cheek as they finished dancing. "Lead the way m'lord." She smiled.

"Why do you insist on calling me that!? THAY!" some people had noticed king Thay snapped, but tried to ignore it: notmany people pointed out when a king is at fault...

"sorry Lila. Lets eat!" he swam with her to the massive feast table. Nearly every food grown or found in the kingdomwas located on that table

She looked down. All her life she called him "m'lord or King Thay." she was brought up by her parents who told her to do so. It was a form or respect, and it was like an unwritten law. "I'm sorry." She told him quietly. She then followed him to the buffet table.

He felt her hurtness. "No, Im sorry Lila, Its just I dont like beign called lord or king or anything like that. Im sorry I hurt you. From now on call me just Thay, or friend, or love, or whatver. Just dont call me King or lord."

She nodded. She knew she shouldn't take him snapping at her so seriously, but it stung. "Ok." She agreed. "Shall we eat?"

"Yes." He ate hunrily and with his hands, and yet *** still semed polite and extremely etiquitee.

Chenelle stared at him. "Big help, jerk." she muttered. She sat in the sand and tried to concentrate.

She also ate, sitting beside him. Never had she tasted anything so good. She tried to eat delicately. She could feels eyes watching them as they sat there, and before as they danced. She tried not to let it bother her.

"Jerk?" he hear it even though he was concentrating on Lila.
It was hard to swallow his pride and his anger, but he did it. The crowd of guests had hushed, hoping to hear an argument, a Royal aArgument.

"Listen Chenelle, you dont seem too get it. Your destiny and your past are entertwined with each other. Before you can move into your future, you must rediscover your past. Im not the one who will help you either."

He m,oved back to Lila. He felt her emotions. "I hate my gist.. listen lila, im sorry that Ive embarrased you so much, it really wasnt my intention."

"No no. You haven't Thay. Honestly, you haven't. This night is perfect." Well, except for the nosy townspeople. "I couldn't have asked for a better birthday." She smiled brightly.

Thay sensed that their was no lie. "Your perfect. I just wish Ewan was here..."

She was surprised to hear this. "Oh really?" He was his competition, even the noblest of kings she thought got jealous.

"We do." The merman floating next to them thought that was odd, since he didnt know he was an empath. "Ewan is a good man, and a good friend, and a loyal ctizen as well. Im proud to be fighting over you with him... if that makes sense."

She laughed. "Oddly, it makes sense." She nodded, looking up at him and smiling. She never though such a wonderful night would be part of her life. Her birthday was like a royal event in the palace. For once she felt important.

He felt her feelings. "You are always important."

She laughed. "Stop doing that!" She knew he couldn't help it. She leaned up and kissed his forehead.
