She looked at Thay shocked. "Not everything is about money." She told him quickly.

That shut him up. Thay didnt want to argue with her, or with Ewan. He realized that he had bin a total jerk weed, and apologised. The crowd privatly laughed at the king. "Im sorry Ewan"

She hugged Ewan back, and pulled him back as he was swimming to away. "Sit beside me, there's an extra chair. Besides, u haven't eaten yet." She smiled warmly.

Thay bit his lip jealously.

"Thank you, Lila." He sat down next to her and put some food on the plate before him. Turning to the king, he said quietly: "It's alright, your highness." He said this with total sincerity.

Thay fought back the urge to strangle him. These feelgin werent normal to him. Somethingwas putting them into him. "I-its ok Ewan, im just wondering why Lila has opened her other present I gave her"

((Ewan is not a mind reader, he's just very, very intuitive, he can easily pick up on emotions based on facial expressions, but not at all like Thay can.))

Fear gripped Ewan momentarily as he saw the anger in the king's face. "Is.. is something wrong, my lord?"

"No Ewan. Im sorry, but I must go." He swamslowly away from them glancing back at Lila lovingly, then leaving the palace and the party.

"Oh, I'm sorry Thay." She placed the coral mermaid down at the table where she sat. She hadn't put it down since she opened it. She then swam to the box and unwrapped it. She wondered what it could be. Inside she found a ruby necklace. She quickly put it on, rubies were her favorite gem, and red was her favorite color, so it was perfect. "Thank you Thay." She smiled greatfully. When she looked back at him, he was gone. She glanced throughout the crowd and saw him swimming away. She followed him out of the palace, finally catching up with him.
"Thay, where are u going?"

'oh nol,' Ewan thought to himself 'where's he going off to now?' It wasn't easy, but he resisted the urge to swim after him.

Seeing Lila leaving, Ewan decided to swim after the king as well.

"Lila? You want 2 know where im going? I Im loking for something. Whatever ti is, its making me wanna kill Ewan in jealousy. Thats not nromal. Were freidns, good friends. So ive got to find it, but he cannot com with me, thogh id like it if youd help me."

She was a little scared. She didn't know if whatever made her have these feeling would also make him want to hurt her. She didn't want to be alone with him unil he knew that there was nothing wrong. "I think I should stay here." She said quietly. She didn't want to be afraid of him, and it wasn't him she was afraid of, it was whatever that was making him feel jealousy.

I cant hurt you. I wouldnt allow it. I resisted hurting wan because you love him. Why are you afrid that i would hurt you?"

She swam back a little bit. "It's not you, it's whatever is making u feel this way."

Ewan backed away fearfully. "Maybe it would be best if I left.."

"U r afriad of me nw" He turned slowly and swam out of the palace with two fo the Royal Guard.

Ewan was suddenly ashamed at his fear. "Are you sure I can't do anything?" he called after the king.

She wanted to swim after Thay, but it was true, she was afraid of him right now. She new he couldn't control his feelings. She turned and saw Ewan, hearing his comment and began to swim up to him.

A voice echoed back to Ewan but it wasnt the kings. It was a sniister, evil voice. "None can help your king now..."

The voice made her shiver. She swam up to Ewan. "Ewan, I'm worried about Thay." She told him quietly.
