"I'm worried about him, too, Lila." Without another thought, Ewan swam as fast as he could back to his room in the palace (which was very fast). He looked up at the short sword that hung on the wall. His father had given it to him, years ago. He grabbed it, put it in its scabbard, and swam back to follow Lila.
"Lila, go back to the palace and get help. Hurry!" Ewan swam up to one of the Atlantians. The Atlantian jabbed at him with a long spear, but Ewan dodged neatly to the side and stabbed him through the chest. He looked at the enemy's dead body, in awe of what he had done. Then he started slashing at more of them.
She nodded and swam back to the palace. There were still many guests at the party. "Mermen, I need your help! Your king is in trouble!" This got their attention. "He is in a fight with at least fifteen mermen from Atalantis just south of here. Take up your swords and help him!"
The mermen didn't need to think of what to do, those who had their swords went to help, those who didn't went to their homes to get their swords and then to the south waters.
