Under the Sea...

Ewan woke from the best sleep he had had in days. He got up from the bed and went into his room. He opened the closet, and, to his surprise, found fifty different shirts, coats, etc. He looked them over until his eyes settled on a long, open-chested vest. It was a pale silver color, and seemed to glow lightly, like the crown.

Lindar looked up at Lila. "Everything." he said hiding his hand gripped bruise on hir right wrist.

She knelt down in front of him and took both of his hands in hers. She looked into his eyes. "You can tell me, Lindar. I'm your friend. You can trust me."

Lindar glanced down at his bruise. "My father." he said.

Next Ewan looked over to a corner of the room, where there was a small wooden chest. He opened it. Inside were all types of expensive rings, wrist and arm bands, medallions, and necklaces. He took only a thin silver chain and fastened it around his neck. Now he went back to the closet and put on a wide black leather belt with a silver buckle. Glancing over to the mirror on the opposite wall, he was somewhat surprised at his reflection, dressed in such finery. (oh and his sword is attatched but I don't feel like describing that in detail)

"Your father?" She repeated a little confused until she followed his gaze and her eyes settled upon the bruise. "Did he do this to you?" She asked shocked.

Lindar nodded. "He was angry." he explained. "Father grabbed my wrist and started to squeeze." Lindar started crying. "And I told him to stop because it hurt and then Taty came in and decked him. She told him if he ever touched me again that she would make sure he never saw the light of day again."

She hugged him gently. "Don't cry." She hushed soothly. "You can always come here when you want. I'll speak to the king and see if we can get you your own room." She gently pulled away from the hug and looked at Lindar. "Does your father hurt you a lot?"

Ewan came into the hall way just in time to hear the words "I'll speak to the king," and for a moment he didn't remember that she was talking about him.

"It was the first time and from what my sissy Taty said It'll be his last but she doesn't trust him. Everytime he's in the same room with me she's right there inbetween us.

Ewan swam up to Lindar. "You and your sister can stay here if you want."

Lindar looked up at Ewan. "Thanks but mum would be worried."

She nodded. She was about to ask something else, but saw Ewan come into the hallway. Seeing him in his new clothes made her go speechless for a moment. He was so handsome. She then came back to reality and showed her respect to the new king by tilting her head. She listened to the two converse.

"Alright. Don't be afraid to ask if you need anything."

Lindar nodded. "I wont, your excellency." he said stammering the last word.

She took Lindar's hand and squeezed it gently. "Don't be afraid to ask either of us." She added quickly.

Lindar smiled. "Okay." he said studying Ewans new clothes.

Ewan turned to Lila. "Please, don't do that. Don't treat me like I'm your better."

She turned to Lindar. "I'll be right back." She told him with a smile, and then swam up to Ewan. "May I talk to you for a moment?" She motioned toward the nearest room.

Lindar laughed. He smiled.
