for you it's fun.
While I enjoy wasting some poor fool on coagulation just as much as anyone else, I can't say I enjoy it all the time. I'm not that good of a sniper, and I don't go out of my way for the weapon
I never play snipers matches because they're so annoying.
I think it's important to have things your good at, I just hate it when people in halo say "
"Don't WOry teh sniper is here to save the day" and they act like they are gods gift to halo because they can shoot the rifle.
it's the attitude with snipers that I despise.

lolpeople think that a lv 20 is high but the truth of the matter is that before when they made it so hard to level up 20s were really like 15's..i find it easy to take out lv20's...it's when you get to lv 27 that you actually go against decent people.
Lol? wtf are you "lol" for?
Ever think I wanted to earn it?I'm just getting so sick of getting stuck with 11 year olds in team games who bog the good players down.

that's why you play with people you know... 😕
i'm loling because level 20 isn't very high..a 30 is like a 20 before they reset the stats

well as long as halo series' sniper rifle can fire without cooldown, the users will be unappreciative of teamwork.. if there was a delay in between firing rounds, people may not think so godly of the sniper rifle besides the dedicated few
I have theorized on the SR for a while now.....
originally, games used to have massive fog and darkness.......but as they got better, you could fire farther since it rendered more polygons.......
Games began to incorporate SRs into the gameplay, but as seen in games like golden eye, it was relatively useless.
But as technology and engines have improved so has the rifles use. there is an oldschool aura surrounding the sniper...
they believe that since the SR must take skill, whoever is a Sniper must be awsome. They think only of iit's power, instead of how it should be used. A Sniper has the abilty to go kill lots of people from a relativly safe distance. However the problem is the Sniper o becoftenmes unconcerned with the team, and instead of soley relying on supporting the group, they go on solo killing sprees.
Back many years ago using the SR used to take skill due to the awful game engines that used them. but now thanks to the 2 stick controller it's become much easier to snipe.
Don't know about cooldown....
actually once you get to the "big league" of halo which is at like level 25 being a sniper requires lots of skill...if you have a sniper you're usually priority number one for the other team and they'll be looking for you to take the snipes. Now I don't know about you but I think its kind of hard to snipe people when you're being shot at because you cant zoom in when you get hit and it results in you having to rely on no scoping or your secondary weapon..usually when the first shot is fired from a sniper rifle everyone will know where you are...so once again..sniping while being fired upon is quite difficult.

it's debatable....I think the sniper is something we all hate, but we all need at the same time...
I was really gettin used to the idea of not having to worry about snipers alot in the new maps....but the new map relic is really a big sniper map. 2 rifles.
its not debatable...the guy with sniper and and rockets are needed..the people that just use the SMG are scrubs...nobody just uses an SMG...grunts like that are not needed and only cause bigger frusteration by getting more deaths over kills...
Its usually Low risk, high damage weapons are made priority to win a match.. SMG is very risky, shotgun is fairly risky (depending on what your enemy has).. even sword is fairly risky (lag can really bite you on the ass in this case).. the Low risk in this case would be distance... the people with sniper rifles and rocket launchers are far less likely to die

the thing is, you can't single handidly win the match with only a SR and a BR(although considering this is pheonix here that is debatable...one burial mounds, I got shot after picking the rockets up, and team mates did a hog rush. I think they killed 1 person. HE ran in and killed all 3 of them, and planted the bomb). you NEED those team mates(most of the time) with SMGs and BRs to engage the enemy while you do your dirty work and take pot shots at leisure.
the key is to keep your kill/death ratio under control.
best realistic case scenario for a kill/death is a 4-1, while a 2-1s is fairly standard. getting 12 kills and 10 deaths is very, very very bad
I like blowing hogs up with the rocket, or shooting a guy in the head with a SR, I just don't think it's essential to my playing style.

it seems like shotgun never 1-hit kills for me.. do I have to shoot them in the head with it for that insta-kill?.. or does anywhere work (as long as I'm up close) .. I usually have to fire a shot and then melee them for em to die
only host shottys kill people in one hit..if you're not host you have to have almost a perfect connection to kill people in one shot..I think that the shotgun is a horrible weapon because of how slow it is but if you can shoot them once with the shotgun and take their shields away you can melee attack them right after to kill them. If you're host and you have shotgun the results are devastating because even if you're kind of far away it will still do massive damage.
