On the Shehazarard
"Did it get through?" asks Dallas.
"Yeah, it's there," says Ariadne. "But you didn't tell them what was around them."
"Tactical decision," says Dallas. "They don't need to know. You get back to looking at weirdo's code."
Dallas and Ariadne return to the monitors...
... which are almost entirely pure green. Only the tiniest of black spaces are there, as the windows are filled with countless and unending lines of continuous code...
"Very well," says Melitus. "Then now is the time.
"All of you have set yourselves on a certain Path, that has led you here. Some of that choice has been genuine, some of it not so, but nonetheless, you are here. And you have been heading in one direction- to understand what happend with Jericho. How can you understand this man's mind? The answer is simple. You are on the same path Jericho took.
"But you can be led down that path no longer. From this point onwards, you must chose whether you wish to carry on down Jericho's road or not."
The door to the room opens, and the butler returns, carrying a tray of glasses and a wine bottle.
"If you chose to continue down Jericho's path, then I shall remove the encryption from your coding and you will be free to make a fresh choice once you have understood. If you not chose to do so... well... that will have to be discussed once I have everyone's answer."
The butler places the drinks tray on a small table a few metres away from the iron lung. He opens the wine bottle, neatly, and starts to pour the white wine into the lasses. There is one glass for each of you.
"Those of you who would continue down that path, and understand Jericho... must drink the wine. That is your choice that I now leave to you."
Ok folks. Here is the crutch point.
CHOICE: DRINK THE WINE, OR DO NOT DRINK THE WINE
If you wish to talk over some of the implications of the decision with me (Ush), please do so. Do please be careful about this; the choice is yours to make and yours alone, and is irreversible.
