You doubt it- and you would have to pasds the rubble you dug out into the tunnel you are currently in, which would be a nightmare.

The gap itself has nothing crossing it. But as Dallas points out, it is not an empty pit- there are all sorts of jagged, semi-connecting rocks lower down.

So if we fall we'll be deader than dodos...
