I'm a bit concerned with the music...Elfman's Batman theme was perfect, and so far I haven't heard any music from it besides the 2 trailer songs, and they were both background stuff, if either of those is the main theme and we have nothing that can pump you up or anything, it's gonna suck. For those of you that were Terminator fans and loved the theme, then saw T3 and they neglected it, didn't that partially ruin it? I think they NEED to have a theme at least equally awesome to Elfman's, cause the theme from the other 2 films wasn't nearly as good. Last I heard, Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard were working on the music...now, JNH from what I have, does not to "themes", he just does mellow music. Hans Zimmer doesn't seem like he could do a superhero movie, granted the score for Pearl Harbor was awesome...sucked that the movie couldn't be as good as that. I'm a bit skeptic about how this will come out in a few areas: Music, Scarecrow being a tough enough villain (physically), rushed maybe but I also don't want a Batman movie not to include Batman---if its 50/50 that might be rushed, but if its 75/25 then where's Batman--that sucks, and eh you probably feel the same way so I don't need to type this all out.
I heard before that Two-Face was their original choice for this movie, but they decided to go this route, and that they do want to do The Joker, so yeah, that'd seem logical to go that order. The Joker is the ultimate Batman villain, so ending the trilogy off with him is a good thing. Personally I hope this goes longer, but just not horrible, I think we could get a lot of Batman out of this from what I've seen, but we just need to make sure nobody with the first name Joel gets involved in this at all.
Well I assumed the next would would be Two-Face, mainly because Goyer has said that he's like to do a Trilogy, and ending it with The Joker. And because he said he wanted to do Two-Face, then logically he'll be up next.
That's a novel and refreshing approach - to end a series with the arch villain. I've never seen it done like that before but I love the idea.
I honestly cannot wait - if there is a trilogy it will appeal greatly to me, mainly because if I myself were to do a Batman trilogy, Scarecrow, Two-Face and Joker would be the ones I'd do.
It sounds so awesome, my three favourite Batman villains and three of my favourite villains of all time are going to get their own movies.
To be honest, I'm psyched about Two-Face getting his own movie the most.
As for the ones I think deserve their own movies or whatever, I would have to say if I picked any people to do, I think the best characters that could hold up a whole movie by themselves are:
Scarecrow
Two-Face and Catwoman would be a nice mix
The Joker
and Mr. Freeze
All the rest, no doubt that they're cool, but I think like, take The Penguin for instance...he couldn't be the only villain, cause he has no action skills in him and stuff. It would have to be like, Penguin and Bane or Clayface, and stuff like that to balance it out. The Joker is the man, nothing can beat him, he's awesome. Scarecrow could fight if they made him able to, plus he's got a lot of interesting things he could do. Two-Face could fight but I don't know if an entire movie could be based on him, so I think Catwoman, who could also fight but I doubt a whole movie could be based on, that would be a nice mix (not with the two of them teaming up, just having the two of them vs Batman, but not teamed up, get my point?) Mr. Freeze I think could have a whole movie to himself, cause he's got the fighting ability, he's got the backstory and he's got potential for mass problems for Gotham lol.
In my Batman story, I'm using Clayface, The Joker and Harley Quinn (with a couple random things like Lock Up and stuff), basically because I was gonna do just Clayface since he's the only one that has a big enough story that hasn't been done yet. But if I were to make a trilogy, I would say I'd make it (not in this order), The Joker, Catwoman + Two-Face, and either Mr. Freeze or The Scarecrow...and if I had to, I'd mix them up a bit and make it like The Scarecrow and Two-Face, The Joker, and Mr. Freeze and Catwoman or whatever, but those 5 villains would be what I would pick from.
If you look at the evidence so far, it points in the direction of Two Face and Joker.
It isn't set in stone, but from the reports of Harvey Dent being in the movie, as well as Two-Face being pretty much made for a Director like Chris Nolan, I'd put my money on Two-Face being the next bad guy.
But, it's cool that there's definitley going to be three of them.
I seriously doubt Nolan would choose to do Clay Face or Man-bat or any other "supernatural" character. Even someone like Mr. Freeze is pushing it. Remember, these new Batman films are going for the super-realistic style, someone like Clay-Face or Freeze would completely defeat the idea.
The only other villains apart from Two-Face and Joker, would be Catwoman, Penguin and The Riddler. They are the only ones with the star power and the believability in them to get into one of them.
The Penguin could make it into one of them I think, after all he is a self-appointed Kingpin type character, he's just a fat business man and probably the most realistic of all of Batmans villains. I hope they don't, because Penguin bores the living crap outta me.
I would love a Two-Face movie SO much. Arguably the finest villain in Batman's world.
Can I just say that I think that Bale seems PERFECT for this role. He seems really hardcore about it, which absolutely puts Clooney to shame. Also he's the exact height of Batman, and looks just like him:
He's been quoted as saying he's going to portray Batman as "more of a creature than a human being."
Agreed.
I was sold on Bale as soon as I saw Equilibrium. He can a play cold, calculating, brooding, authoritive figure, as well as display emotion. He has the look, the physique, the agility, the skill, experience in martial arts, everything
I see Equilibrium as his demo for what he'll be like as Batman. If it's anything like his performance in that film I'll consider it a job well done.
