I think they only didn't include the mask because they foreseen the kind of Hugh Jackman pin-up type thing. Because it's quite obvious he's adored by millions of female fans so wearing a mask half the time would detract from that.

So It's perfectly alright to go and start off a thread about a film you like but when you wan't to post about a film you dislike you can't for fear of your ideas being rejected by other people. Sometimes it takes some one else to highlight the real problems within a film, someone who is not just liking it because it's called X-Men. If I said 'I didn't like it 'and then just never gave any reasons then I would have been slaughtered. The very fact that I gave an argument proves I've watched it and thought about enough to say what I said.

I can honestly say I didn't like it. It didn't really engage me in the way the X-men originals did. The introduction of really pointless characters; Spike, Toad , Avalanche, the Blob( Wow..... he's incredibly fat....what a power) etc. The voices were annoying, the theme tune was gay, Wolverine with that orange/black combo, Sabretooth just looked completely laughable with his appearance(but then again it probably was styled off the movie). I've seen the way they've chewed up Gambit and spat him back out as this weedy freak of nature so I generally don't care for it much.

P.S. I'd rather watch Pokemon than X-Men Evolution.

Okay, this mask thing.
1) What reason would there even be for him wearing a mask? Apart from 'because he wears one in the comics' The movie isn't going along with the comics, they are just being used a guidelines.
2)A mask would look bad on screen because you can't see hugh jackmans facial expression which tells us a lot about a character
3)A guy running round in a leather mask? Come on, how stupid is that. So uncool.

X- Men was just completely terrible in the way of showing off the good original cartoon and comics(Evolution is also bad). The dialogue is mind-numblingly boring, the set pieces, scenes and special effects where not really impressive to say the least and the casting was awful.
That guy who played Cyclops had absolutely no screen presence to pull off a part that definately required it. Like Tobey Maguire in Spiderman he looked like he was just about old enough to legally drink milk and wear a bib.
Halle Berry as Storm was totally a misdirected casting as she also did not fit the image of a kickass mutant (She fries Toad and makes a mist... what a part!)
Hugh Jackman as Wolverine I just couldn't take seriously enough, he just didn't have that Wolverine attitude(or mask-total mistake because I loved the mask); he just walked around like he was miffed at something and occasionally getting his claws out.
Mystique in the comics and cartoons is a central figure in the plot, in the film however she's a naked , scaly, ugly, blue thing that runs around and holds no apparent influence in Magneto's plans.
Sabretooth was just a long-haired rockstar(with fake hairy eyebrows....ewww) in a long, brown coat who growled every so often and apart from dying did nothing of any importance.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of a movie, and bringing a reason to this forum is perfectly okay. However, the only flaw I see in posting this thread is that you are obviously starting it to piss people off. If you want to wax philosophical about something and argue a point to the bitter death, join a debate club. If you have something intelligent to say, then start a thread.

IMO they didnt use it cos it would look stupid, sorry but it would.

IMO its a very good (the best) comic book adaptation and its entertaining.
