Glorfindel and Erestor?

Okie, I know it's just wishful thinking, but perhaps these two are actually Glorfindel and Erestor? I mean it WOULD make sense if Elrond's two cheifs stayed at Rivendell with him until he left to the Grey Havens but just two elven swordsmiths?!? All elves were supposed to go to the Grey Havens were they not?

I dont think that a chief counsellor would at the same time be a master smith. And I also do not think that Glorfindel was such a perfect smith as needed for reforging Narsil.

Which is so sad I would have loved to have seen Elrond's sons!!!

I doubt it was them, the elder council members wouldnt be the ones out making Narzil again - but I also doubt for some reason two good smithers didnt go to the grey heavens with the rest and just happened to stay behind.

I highly doubt that those two are Elladan and Elrohir because both of them look like a younger Elrond basically so one of them can't be blonde.

that's exactly what I was wondering, why would 2 swordsmiths stay behind? I like to think that the two head chiefs stayed behind with Elrond and Elrond requested them to reforge Narsil.

They look strikingly the same, like identical twins. Or maybe it's just me. 😛 But it would be cool if one of them is Glorfindel, but I doubt it. 🙁 Dang it, PJ should have told us who those are! 😠 😛 Maybe they're just "random Elves", 'coz we all know that not "every" Elves went to Valinor yet and decided to delay a little longer, just like the Elves next to Legolas at the coronation.

In the end they all do but quite late... some time in the fourth age probably... later they come back on a piece of eressea thus living in england some hundred or thousand years ago... but men made them flee again...

ElRond has the gift of sight. He probably saw that he would need them.

I really like the Idea that they are Glorfindel and Erestor, It does make sense cos they do actually seem to be the only two elves left in Rivendell apart from Elrond and Arwen, so why not his two chief Counselors?

Glorfindel - well, maybe he was really a good smith, I mean, he lived in Gondolin before, they had great Noldor smiths there to teach him...

But I rather think it's somebody else. First, they do not look really similar, and second - Rivendell was a refuge for Elves in Middle-earth, and especially for those left of the Gwaith-i-Mírdain, the jewel-smiths of Eregion near Moria who were as the name says great smiths... the creator of the RIngs of Power, Celebrimbor, was one of them. They were surely better smiths than all of Elronds councellors.

Well I didn't really picture Glorfindel and Erestor looked alike? I rather thought that Glorfindel had blonde hair and Erestor looked more like Elrond. That's what I pictured them.

I would LOVE the idea that they were Glorfindel and Erestor it DOES make sense that they would stay behind with Elrond instead of just two ordinary elves.

i think two great swordsmiths would have stayed behind....i mean theres a massive war approaching i think they could find it in their hearts to stay hwere they are needed as long as they could
