I should say, more characters that hang around.

Naruto has five villages and the enemies, each with regular characters. All of the Konoha 11 and Taka/Hebi get revisited semi regularly, and likewise the Kage and villains.

Most of the OP characters are crew or get left behind as the voyages go on. So you've got a core group, and the rest cycles by.

Eh, the rest of the Konoha 11 don't really feature regularly. Before the War, we had some of the 11 featured (lightly, mind you) during the Invasion arc, and before that, it was during their hunt for Itachi.
Of course, don't really know if it is worse in OP.

Eh, perhaps. Then again, Oda does that ingenious thing of using the chapter covers to tell mini stories concerning past characters. And that's just friggen clever.

But yeah. Really the only character we flash back to often is Vivi, which is why she'll probably be joining the crew. And I like Vivi so yay.

Oda does have his lost century thing and ancient weapons, but we don't have enough info to make much guesses yet.

On the other hand, we have a nice incomplete picture of what happened with Hashirama/Madara/Tobi etc.. We know a lot of stuff happened, and we know what some of it is, but we don't know how it all fits together.

Indeed. Kishi gives us just enough so we can make reasonable speculations but not enough that it takes away the mystery. Right now in One Piece, no one can reasonably guess what D. is based on what we have. One speculation was the D was a smile made by a : D face. lol

Tobi in particular is a good example. He happens to wear a mask and he happens to have a hole where his right eye can see and he happens to have been introduced shortly after the Kakashi Gaiden, where a character gave up only his left eye, and he happens to have a name suspiciously similar to that character.

Kishi loves a good red herring if nothing else. 😛

Yea, he does some smart stuff.

The cover stories do happen slow enough they're hard to comment on- one panel a week and all that!

Miss Goldenweeks was awesome. She hardly knew anyone in Baroque Works and still went to the effort of trying to save them, even Crocodile! And then made the ones she did save have their dreams come true.

Which is why she is one of my favorites, despite being so minor a character. That and her being one of the first characters to make Luffy look pathetic in a fight. 😊

One thing I do like about One Piece, and Naruto, and Negima:

Minor characters are fun. Have them show up occasionally, give 'em a little arc through the appearances (even if it's extremely minor), and it's a pretty cool thing.

Quit being off topic. Gosh.

awesome

Hey, I brought up Naruto again there 🙂

Coming post-timeskip and seeing how everyone advanced was one of the best bits of the series.

Or seeing Iruka again recently and touching on their relationship.

Eh, I suppose. Then again one of the biggest complaints of the series was the lack of panel time for the supporting characters, or more specifically the Konoha 11 sans Sakura and Naruto. Which isn't the case for Team 10, obviously, but I can see the argument for the others.

Thankfully, I don't care about Team 8 and Team Guy got its own spinoff anyway, and that's just awesome.

Yea, though I'll note the reason it's a complaint is we do get enough of them to care.

Hmmm

That's some sound logic right there. I suppose he could go the Kubo route and just not show them anymore. Like Kon! Or

Then again, I think Kishi's hands were pretty much tied on that one to be honest.

Random Love Letter Guy is the most powerful and best character in the series, and easily had the best moment, dominating that chapter with his presence and making all the ones that came after look pitiful in comparison, unable to compare to his manliness.

Best character in the HST?

Change your username to RandomLoveLetterGuy.

Whitebeard might only slightly edge him out.

Due to having the best Badass Boast in it:

"I AM WHITEBEARD."

Sometimes a name is all that's needed.

Though Random Love Letter Guy is certainly the most powerful.

And nah. NemeBro has grown on me. I think this one is permanent.

I'm too distracted by the recent picture I posted to pay attention.

Mmm Kukaku.

Ganju? Eh, I don't get your attraction to him, but I guess there's not accounting for taste...

Foresaw this. Was gonna specify but I waited until it was posted to edit. Bwahahaha.

"Gotdamn loook at that chest!!!"

I'm sorry that was uncalled for. but wouldn't the moon-making man in Naruto be>Whitebeard?

Im starting to think Madara is using the Akatsuki to create a jutsu (from all the bijuus) that can break the seal on the moon, and control whatever is sealed inside it, like what he did with Kyuubi.

And if that's the case, I wonder if the statue they use to place all the bijuu in is what the monster looks like.

Too far fetched.

But, if you're right, I will fly to your location, and hand deliver a large bottle of expensive hard liquor.

He was pretty close. Better pay up Dewdemon.

Assuming Rikudo Sennin actually did that yes.

Hamfisted edits can't save you now.

He more than likely did. Which is cool. Dude is already broken, since he is effectively a reality warper.

Nah bro.
