He may have gone home alone but he spent quite a bit of time at the academy. He was still looked after the same way Naruto was looked after by Hiruzen.

That's because it wasn't there. You're making shit up, again. It brings the user under the control of the caster (lol). It was not used to mentally torture Sasuke even a single time like Oro did to Anko. And Sasuke got worse after the cursed seal was removed by Itachi so your "corruption" argument is also invalid.
Here's what it does do: it allows the castor to slowly take over the person's mind and body as they person uses the cursed seal's power. This never happened with Sasuke until the very very very end of the cursed seal's lifespan when he fought Itachi.
