Will madara ever do fkn anything?

What a waste of a character. I hope hahsi oneshots him with the power of his wood.

Ha after reading through so much of these thread I instantly thought you were talking about Tobi. He got the same complaint back in the day.

And Madara did try to do something. Just failed lol.

Sasuke tried to kill Naruto the first time they met in Shippuden. He was always pretty evil.

Though yes, that he was basically a pawn with little understading of anything outside of his own personal drama robs him of any coolness imo.

He was also being watched by Orochimaru, and only threatened of it. He's also the same Sasuke who went out of his way more to not kill random ninja when Orochimaru was training him.

I don't like Sasuke cause his 'Woe is me' personality. When lots of characters in Naruto have went through just as bad or worse and turned out fine.

Not gonna disagree but who? Only person I can think of is Kakashi but I wouldn't say he had it worse...maybe Naruto but he did almost give into the Kyuubi.

Haku, Hashirama, Naruto were the ones who turned out fine. Gaara started out crazy but he's become fine, and his life was a lot worse. Kabuto wasn't all woe is me at first. Neji kinda, but he went a different way that was just as bad imo.

Hashirama, Naruto

Will of fire hax~

Mind you, Sasuke had a pretty heavy sequence of bad events. He had his family killed by his brother, then he got mindscrewed, then he had to kill his brother. And throw in some other prodding like being given a super seal that made him stronger when he gave in to hatred.

Haku's backstory is similar but ultimately one key factor sets it apart and makes it more tolerable than Sasukes: all the bad stuff happened at once. It doesn't turn into a torture conga line that way. And let's face it: Zabuza was better to Haku than Itachi was to Sasuke...which is really sad now that I type it.

Hashirama had it rough as a kid in the environment but still had a relatively supportive brother(not as supportive as Izuna but whatever). And he was quite frankly unrivaled in his time by any shinobi since not even Madara could really beat him. Compared to Sasuke who had to deal with never being able to handle Itachi and slowly watching a loser catch up.

Naruto had an arguably worse childhood but also had more positive role models in his life. And even he admits his pain wasn't quite the same as Sasuke's.

Gaara had a worse back story perhaps but actually did end up a lot worse than even Sasuke at his most deplorable. Sasuke was insane but there was at least some kind of sense. Konoha wiped out his family, he wipes out Konoha. Konoha was excessive and killed people who had nothing to do with it, he does the same. Sure he is basically turning everyone into a criminal worthy of the death penalty but they're still people. The only reason Gaara didn't kill everyone was because he saw people as food. Killing the weak ones was essentially eating dirt. That is way more insane.

Yeah but by that logic neither was Sasuke. In his first appearance he understood how Naruto felt and chewed Sakura out for it...and this was after Nartuo tied him up! 😛

Neji didn't have it worse but also didn't go about it nearly as bad. Beating up a innocent girl=/=wanting to kill thousands of innocent people. That and Neji did tell Hinata to quit so he did go out of his way to try and avoid conflict...by tearing her down but details. 😛

So yeah. Not gonna disagree but playing Devil's Advocate is fun.

It's pretty surreal that people actually believe Naruto had it worse than Sasuke.

"I've never had a family but am supported by the ruler of my village though the village dislikes me" isn't quite up to par with "my older brother massacred my entire family in a night, I had to wade through their blood and mangled corpses only to find him killing my parents, then he raped my mind and spared me because he thinks I suck".

Definitely true. However Naruto had it consistently bad whereas Sasuke had one legendarily bad night. Naruto's childhood as a whole was arguably worse since his entire life was alienation and loneliness.

Which I what I think Aura meant.

Well I wouldn't say he had only one legendarily bad night. If he had then he would be more similar to Haku. But let's be completely honest: Sasuke was surprisingly well adjusted for a kid who had his entire family slaughtered. When forced to work with people he eventually warmed up to him.

The real reasons Sasuke became evil was a combination of Itachi making him feel like dirt, a couple of mindrapes(both Tsukuyomi and Tobi telling him the truth), and a couple evil bastards trying to manipulate him.

So....everyone should try and give Sasuke a hug or at least an ass-kicking + talk no jutsu. I mean the latter worked wonders for Gaara and he had a more screwed up passed than everyone listed so far. As for Naruto, didn't that guy have "friends" and an actual childhood at least compared to Haku and Gaara?

Funny how Itachi doesn't admit he phucked up until he only a few chapters from releasing Edo Tensei. Or rather his plan worked too well.

Not at all. Even ignoring the fans who like him for being sexy or whatever(never saw it), many kids can relate to being a loner with a lot of talent.

That, and he always seemed to attract the attention of girls, which he rebuffed by being aloof. Most adolescent boys (the target audience for Naruto) would likely find that cool.

Plus he comes off as the only sane man at times like this haermm

Hahaha, old school Naruto was pretty funny.

What the hell happened to this guy?

he's actually a competent ninja now and doesn't need to put on the false bravado, that's what happened.

Its cause Zabuza loved Haku in a different way. The I wanna bone you type of way not a family type of way.

But Hashirama still had to see his family killed over, and over in an endless war he wanted, and did end. Sasuke seen his parents killed by his brother, and seen what Itachi wanted him to see of the slaughter of his family.. It was one night, and not something he'd ever forget. But Hashirama wouldn't have forgotten everyone he seen killed in battle, or probably even the faces of the ones he had to kill to survive. I could believe Tobirama easily not caring, but Hashirama wanted to end the fighting even when he was fighting.

Naruto's childhood pain was different, so he didn't know what Sasuke felt. And Naruto didn't really get any role models in life until the start of the series. Always hearing everyone saying how horrible he is, and shunned by everyone, growing up without anyone to look over. The 3rd watched over him but never seemed to 'care' for him. Iruka was the first. And when Naruto started to change from someone just wanting attention to proving himself.

Gaara was worse. But while Gaara kinda mixes Naruto and Sasuke's stories together I don't get Sasuke's Woe is Me thing unlike Gaara's because Sasuke had people around that would have cared for him. Yes I know losing his parent would have been the worst thing in the world, and seeing his family killed in mind torture. But he wasn't alone. Gaara had the only person to love him actively try and kill him, and tell him nobody loved him, and had noone to care for him. So he went insane, let the beast take over, and became what everyone feared of him. Then when Naruto shows him how strong caring for others can be, pretty much changes with the help of Temari and Kankuro. Sasuke on the other hand, obsessed over his brother shuns the people who would care for him, then finally grows attachments, and instead of seeing how it would make him stronger runs away to be 'controlled' by Oro because oh woe is me I have to make my brother pay and having friends hinders me.

I just think Sasuke, and Neji kinda went to the extremes in their choices. Neji's father died, and so he becomes very contradicting in stuff like destiny. He's got the seal and is destined to die for Hinata and the main branch but tries to go against that but says you can't change what you are to Naruto. Meanwhile though like Sasuke there would have been plenty of people around to care for him. They just stuck to being obsessed over something. The thing is Sasuke seems to be the only character who doesn't really change. Except now his obsession has kinda switched from killing his brother to killing Konoha or killing Konoha/ways of the Ninja world.

I'm not saying Sasuke's not had it rough, I just think the whole woe is me from beginning Sasuke is kinda annoying to me personally. I also don't like Neji with his woe is me thing too. 😆 But thats just my opinion. Only one I like that was really altered by childhood events is Crazy Gaara and that's cause he was less Woe is Me, and more like I'm going to kill everyone cause my mommy tells me too.

No, I mean that Naruto is nowhere near as hyper-active and loud-mouthed as he used to be.

Also, the written test of the Chuunin exams was actually pretty damn cool now that I've read over it again.
