The Official Naruto series Thread

Its just that he's spent the entirety of Shippuden as either evil, insane, delusional or straight-up pathetic. Its hard to find him cool or be impressed with him when he's actually unlikable. He's not even entertainingly a bad person like lots of the villains of Naruto are. He's just a stoic prick. The one moment of coolness was when he risked his life to save Karin in the Bee fight and that was invalidated when he tried to kill her a few days later. Also he's such a douche to Naruto and Sakura.

Now stfu and look at my thoughts on the Search pt 2!

Sasuke's less evil, more easily manipulated. Up until Itachi's death he wasn't ever doing anything really evil. Then his 'Destroy Konoha' thing was more manipulation of Obito. I don't really, and never like Sasuke. But evil isn't something I'd use when talking about him. He's more a pawn used by everyone. Itachi first, then Oro sort of, then Obito. For the first time he's doing something different that isn't wanted by anyone else. But he's still crazy.

I've only liked Sasuke twice in the entire series.

during the Deidara fight, and during the fight with Danzo. I like his tactics in battle, his overall personality, not so much.

Sasuke tried to kill Naruto the first time they met in Shippuden. He was always pretty evil.

Though yes, that he was basically a pawn with little understading of anything outside of his own personal drama robs him of any coolness imo.

Granted Sasuke also has an inferiority complex too.
Itachi?

And Naruto.

You're under the impression that those things lead to uncoolness. I disagree. Tobi, my favorite character, is the most pathetic person in the manga. But he has a lot of cool moments. Unlikability also doesn't really mean much for coolness either. And, for better or worse, people sometimes like stoic characters. It might not be your cup of tea but many people kinda like the idea of a character who doesn't get riled up over everything. Mind you Sasuke was most hated by the fans during a time when he was less stoic.

Itachi had one?

Yep. Granted I could point out Naruto in the early chapters was more unlikable than Sasuke.

It kind of does. Coolness indicates a likability or being impressed by someone in some way. Its hard to attribute either with Sasuke when he's such a complete tool.

really?

i never got the impression that Sasuke felt inferior to Naruto, it also seems liked the complete opposite... like he thought Naruto wasn't even worthy of being in his presence.

What about when he freaks out over Naruto becoming stronger than him? Its basically why he runs away.

Not at all. My least favorite character is Danzo and I don't like him at all. But his wind jutsu are undeniably some of the coolest. It could be that people think Susano'o and the like are cool techniques and Sasuke is cool by extension.

But of course if you want to know why Sasuke has fans just ask his fans why they like him lol. Mind you you should be awesome enough to do it on your own. I loathe Mako but I can see why people like him.

He doesn't feel inferior to Naruto. He thinks he should be better than Naruto and that is more or less how it was for a long time. It was seeing Naruto catching up to him and getting thrashed by Itachi that fueled his running away. It was a double attack on both complexes if you will.

like the rooftop fight?

i guess so, but I'd have to read/watch that again to remember the full context of why he was mad.

Granted, I'm not much nicer these days but I don't say things like that, anymore.

Dadudemon you used to call Nemesis "Pubes". Why aren't you awesome like that anymore?

Nick-naming you "Pubes" was an affectionate thing, because you're my little homie. I am not like other people and I won't hate on you for being an idiot.

No you can't. No man can understand those depths of insanity.

He totally did. He wasn't 'catching' up to him, Naruto surpassed him. Sasuke got his ass beat by Gaara and then had a front-row seat to Naruto bamfing it up and taking him out. Then they have their fight and he wets his panties over the destruction Naruto's rasengan did. He was totally feeling like Naruto was better than him at that point. Because he was.

I can. Cause I'm cool like that.

Momentary feeling of inferiority does not equal an inferiority complex. Sasuke has, and always will, felt inferior to Itachi because he was. However in the beginning of the series it is clear he thinks he is far above Naruto in terms of talent(for a long while he was), which is why he has a superiority complex that people hate. Naruto surpassing him wounds that complex, not the inferior one.

But I had forgotten about that post until now. crylaugh

Holy shit, I was an a*shole.

I agree with the sentiments in this post.

He grew up literally being the best among his peers in both intelligence and ability. Then the worst among them starts to surpass him. That is quite destructive to your ego if you have a superiority complex...and are actually superior (meaning you complex has some justification to it).

Kishimoto definitely knows how much adolescence can suck. I think he's a pretty good writer.

Really Sasuke's fall getting to where he is as a character is quite depressing. But well done in my opinion if one looks at all of the stages.

The Naruto dub is on tv and I'm watching it out of nostalgia. Child Sakura was adorable.

Until that stupid draw that she had with Ino....but oh well.

So, does anyone feel kind of cheated that Sasuke is thinking logically now or at least for now. I'm sure that everyone was glad tosee Sasuke see reason here anyway but just making sure is all.

Sasuke isn't really thinking as logically if he believes he can become Hokage. He's not really a good guy at the moment. He just shares a mutual enemy with the good guys.

But seeing Team 7 together again was great so it doesn't matter. Especially since it's clear the good times will end soon.
