If by action you mean Madara continues to remain unchallenged by anything even though he's missing his ****ing eyes then yeah there is action.
Honestly I'm not sure what Madara is doing. He seems to be absorbing chakra(which is the only way he'll make it) but he doesn't seem to have the Rinnegan anymore so how is he doing that?
Also did Jiraiya just really suck or something? Cause Naruto mastered Sage Mode in like a week and Madara just got the hang of it in like a second(warning signs).
Ah I gotcha. I'll be the first to admit there has been way too much talking that takes away from the action. At least since the Shinju was revealed. Some of it was good cause I really did like the whole chapter dedicated to Obito and Naruto just talking but 1 is enough to accomplish what Kishi spends so much time on.
But just because Madara is back and he's bringing the action that doesn't mean much. I'm leery of it because Madara is a character who toes the line between being an awesome villain and villain sue. Aizen was awesome too until he wasn't. Some say Madara is already a villain sue but, while I see their point(mountain busting Susano'o that the Gokage had no chance against), there was always Hashirama to keep it balanced. Now that Madara is fighting off both main characters while blind and handily beating Hashirama I'm getting worried.
But we'll see.
As long as Madara dies a lame death I can get behind it. I think that this war has tried to pull too many underwhelming twists, the current result has come from a combination of coincidence, random luck and half-cooked affinities between characters that barely knew each other before.
Madara is supposed to be some sort of master planner, but he is only around because Kabuto was arrogant enough to summon him. He simply got lucky.
Random luck and coincidences are a staple of most stories lol.
Madara having Black Zetsu on standby is smart and does make it seem smart for thinking ahead. Granted him dying was stupid as it left everything to Obito, a kid who had no real reason to bring him back to life. And Black Zetsu eventually wouldn't hold a candle to Obito.
Madara is smart. Not as smart as Aizen or Law(who is probably the smartest HST character in my opinion).
Theory: Madara tempted Orochimaru with the power of the Rinnegan in hopes that he would be revived by the Edo Tensei if Obito turned traitor. Orochimaru was smart enough not to do that but Kabuto wasn't. If that is the case it is still Madara underestimating Orochimaru but things working out because Kabuto was...of a lesser intelligence than both of them.
Soo, Madara's eyes do not return, but his youth does.

Just as well. He'd be ridiculously powerful if he had his doujutsu on top of everything else he now has. Hashirama believes that Madara's already capable of taking out the Bijuu, without his Doujutsu.

It's not like the Rinnegan is the only way to absorb chakra though. Kisame, Orochimaru & Yoroi could all absorb chakra by touching people or being in contact with them. Guess Madara had that ability as well. Though his absorption of Amaterasu is suspect.
He still has Mokuton and now he has Hashirama's Sage Mode, on top of more unrevealed abilities that he now has because he's alive. And he's capable of blitzing Sage Mode Naruto with ease. I knew the dude was stupidly fast, but that was ridiculous.

No, Madara has a cheat: a built in genetic sponge for sage chakra. He's not mastering sage chakra. He has a silver bullet for managing it.

I do think Madara is doing his best to stay alive, and that considered he prepped for many years, the results are somewhat acceptable. He's a really gifted ninja, the Orochimaru of his time in a way.
But at this point this last face off seems forced. And that's just one of the many forced things happening as of late.

His plans have been screwed with by both Tobi (starting the war, not intending to revive him, etc. ) & Kabuto (reviving him as an Edo Tensei when he wanted Rinne Tensei), and Tobi's likely a better strategist than Madara is, based on what we've seen.
But yeah, even Madara acknowledges that he's had to make do with what he's been given.
and even he said that the amount of senjutsu chakra absorbed was manageable, so it implies that he, like any other sage, could be overloaded.... if they can get him to remain still and absorb more sage chakra that is.
still, a master mind or not, he's good at improvising at least, which counts for something considering how good he's doing now.
