I mean in terms of what the technique Izanami is fine. Sacrificing an eye to create an infinite genjutsu loop to beat an opponent who is also not using his eyes sounds like fair and the price is steep enough that no one on Earth would, or could, spam it. I'm just confused if it is literally a jutsu that you can only get out of when you have a Heel-Face Turn(and vice versa I guess). Because that is hilariously overpowered...and something that should have been used on Tobi/Sasuke without worrying about Shisui's eye.

But yeah it is a prime example of bad execution for a technique.

This is shounen. Half the plot devices don't have any foreshadowing to them.

This chapter was cute. If we can spend weeks getting Obito and Madara's backstory then one week with Guy won't hurt anyone. :3

If so, yes, Eight Gate may be a massive power-amp that allows a Genin to defeat 7 top-level Jonin at once.

Maybe Gai has a chance of doing SOMETHING. Maybe not defeat Madara but possibly disable Madara in some way that makes it possible to defeat him.

Can't believe I'm rooting so hard for Gai right nOw. I want him to beat the phuck out of Madara.

Eh. Just let Guy rip off one of Madara's arms and I'll be happy. This is all building to a heroic reappearance of Naruto anyway lol.

At this point I imagine the Moon's Eye Plan will go off because honestly how do they plan on stopping Madara?

Also I love how since he appeared here it has been Guy and Lee who have consistently trolled Madara's shit like bosses.

based on that "?!" Madara had when Gai made his move, 8th Gate Gai is faster than he is. Madara's about to get blitzed... the only question is whether Gai can do any meaningful, lasting damage that puts Madara down long enough for Naruto and Sasuke to recover.

You're probably right. Moon's Eye will happen, and be thwarted from within by "omgihavespirit" of Narutard (no, opinion has not changed all this time).

That, or Madara actually wins. Now that'd be a bit of a middle finger.

shoot, if that does happen, then such a middle finger would be a first in shonen manga.

on the note of Gai, I kinda doubt he'll be able to beat up Madara given how strong he already was before getting the Juubi power up (that's apparently a bigger power up than when Obito got it), but I bet he'll at least wound his pride or something. anything to knock Madara's arrogance down a peg or several.
