One of the funny things is that apparently, the fanfic community as a whole is taking it much better than, say, the pairing at the end of Harry Potter.

Aided in part due to NaruHinata and SakuSasu being more popular to begin with ^^

(Didn't even consider the possibility that Naruto would have a place for Hinata in his heart...? Even after the Pain scene and the hand holding scene? And Naruto shooting down Sakura?)

Actually, that's a thing I liked on the Naruto side- a main character does not have to stick with their first crush, or who their mom thinks would be a good fit (even if it's not bad advice). They can go with one who came a bit later but did like them back. Being the "hero and heroine" means they were hero and heroine, not that they were meant for each other romantically.

Yes, it'd be even worse if he ended up with the girl he had a crush with when he was a kid.

But let's not talk about "not making obvious mistakes" as if it was cool writting either.

I don't think I've actually seen the tears of the the shippers yet but damn that's glorious 😄

Funny how none of them are complaining about Kakashi's mask, or Orochimaru disappearing, or the fact that now there's a race of "moon people".

That last one did have plenty of fair points to be honest.

I can't agree with anyone who talks about Naruto "winning" Sakura as if she as something he could get through determination. She never felt like that for him and he maturely accepted that.
